Found some old photos (https://www.flickr.com/photos/michielverburgh/sets/72157644221395643 for all 25 photos) I took as a 13-year old at a car show

The multicolour swapshop roadster is ace, I'd have one of those. I have no idea how to do anything on Flikr, let alone put the picture on here, so everyone will just have to visit your gallery to see more.

Well done for cooker observation, Cav-saviour.

However i'm taking marks off for failing to notice that it isn't a pick-up.

What pick up?

Yesterday gave the green MGF a wash and went zipping along some nice roads, all the way to Crews Hill. So that was one junction of the M25 and then the Ridgeway :)

However, my steam engine mate was bringing his 1926 Foden steam waggon up to steam and then we pottled off for a brief run around the outskirts of Enfield. It brought a lot of smiles and waves from random folk in cars and so on. Lovely. It had been about 3 years since I sat in the cab and it was great.

Ken, a pal has just sent me some old photos from 1985.

Do you recognise this dapper looking geezer...?!

Well Saga insurance have come up trumps again.

When we bought the Outback we wanted to keep the Outlander insured for about a month in order to get it freshly MOT'd as a good friend is having it, and not having to ponce about sorning and detaxing.

Tried the temp insurers, but nearly a full years cost for a month, sod that, so SWMBO contacted Saga who the main policy is with.

Bloke at the other end did a years second policy for just under £200, which we have now surrendered as the Outy is gone, so we should get around £160 back, very pleased, also the 3 litre Outback was only about a fiver more to insure than the Outlander, so a total of £12 more for that policy incl £8 admin fee which i aint complaining about.

Phoned 'em up today to give 'em the good news about the LPG system its now got, they contacted the underwriter who checked on the LPGA website, found the car is duly registered as converted with an approved installer and all certified online,...result nothing extra to pay and no admin fee either.

Result.

Parked in a layby on the A45 near Coventry , I'd just got my healthy breakfast wrap from Canley Macdonalds . I heard a car with a loud exhaust giving it some stick. I looked up expecting to see a Corsa or something , but no it was very aptly a dark blue Triumph hassling a BMW 6 series( new type). At first I thought it was a 1300 but it was more likely a Toledo as it had some modern looking alloys on it, either way it cheered my morning right up.

Then in other positive news ,I was discussing with one of my daughters what car she wanted now she's got a couple of years no claims and we need her Arosa for her sister in a couple of months. I suggested something older, she didn't dismiss it out of hand, so I showed her some things in the tat thread. Most she dismissed as horrible old bangers, but, she liked the orange FE Victor ! So I might have the excuse to go shopping for some 1970's chod ,as long as it's orange or yellow.

I know that Triumph. It belongs to a mate of mine and it is a 'tweaked' 1300FWD. Those are indeed modern alloys on it. That car bloody shifts. There should be some utube clips of it in a hill climb.

Hahahahaha!!!! I do indeed recognised that particular chap. Excellent photo. Still the same hairdo but more padding round the middle. Wait till I tell him. Excellent stuff.

Sitting in an anonymous bar in Central London having my dinner on my own, feeling a bit grumpy, when on the stereo comes Kingdom of Rust by Doves - a great song and strong contender for Autoshite theme tune (very old thread).

Someone on here introduced me to it, and to my shame I've forgotten who it was. Thanks again anyway. Cheered me up a treat.

Japan... from what little I can find out the Le Seyde can be got for about £10,000-15,000 imported and comes with anything from a 1.8 to a 4.7 engine.  I suspect Ratdat may know more as he's into his obscure oriental stuff and Mitsuoka is about as obscure and oriental as you can get.
