Looking through my late great Aunt and uncle's old slides I found these two that I got quite excited about.

The VW Camper was a faithful servant for many many years,it replaced a split screen version sometime in the early 70's until it was replaced in 1987 by a newer version.

I have a lot of happy memories of this old van

The Capri belonged to another family members partner,I remember as a small boy of being very impressed by it.

Probably both long since gone now.

That's interesting.

Thank you.

It was sold after it blew up its engine when they were in Ireland, it got fitted with a used engine from a vw main dealer so they could get home, but I think they lost confidence in it at that stage.

Ford's Merseyside investment to secure 500 UK jobs - BBC News

Positive UK car factory news. But I thought JLR inherited Halewood, unless Ford got to keep part of it?

Ford got to keep the gearbox plant next door.

Interesting comment However, Ford said that it was not currently facing the kind of supply chain difficulties affecting some other UK businesses. Additional post-Brexit paperwork at ports, which has contributed to bottlenecks for some UK-based firms, has not been much of an obstacle for Ford as it has its own landing facilities at Dagenham, the firm said.

@PhilA if you see one - drool for the interior but run away :D

The Gran Fury - the target market is in the name. Your grandparents drove this car. With the same engine my '66 has in, albeit with the complicated emissions nonsense.

My left elbow has been giving me grief for nearly a year, when I rested it on a desk or something I got a stabbing pain like I was resting on a spike. I was sure there was a splinter or something but no amount of digging around could find it, but there was definitely a lump.  I'd have gone to the GP but obviously "the event" made that impractical.

Today I finally caved in, glugged a mouthful of gin and got my wife to properly dig at it with a needle and scalpel.

Much swearing and blood later:

I kept getting a sharp stabbing pain in my heel every now and then. Really bad, but I’ve got osteoporosis in that ankle from a bike accident, so I assumed the time was finally upon me that the bone was becoming seriously damaged. Went to the doctor, physio etc. This went on for about 7/8 months.

It turned out to be a fucking nail in my boot. Just long enough to poke through at the right angle. Not even a difficult to spot nail either, the head was about 5mm in diameter! If I’d only thought to look earlier!
