What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Some years ago my weekend didn't officially start until I'd heard Brian Matthew on Sounds of the Sixties.

Sadly he died in 2017 and Tony Blackburn just isn't the same. I've recently manged to get myself into a new Saturday morning routine, watching "Public Eye" which I 'tape' off Talking PicturesTV on Thursday evening.

So the immortal music that acompanies this is my new weekend intro:

I don't remember it myself but Public Eye is great viewing. This week's episode seems to mark the start of a new series. It was a little bit more action-packed than previous episodes (personally I hope we get back to the slower-paced storylines) but the fipside was that we were treated to more filming on location.

Early Datsun 140J! I just about made it out to be WPD 778M, it made it to 1984.

The villains use a Jaguar (obviously).

Our hero Frank Marker (played impeccably by Alfred Burke) makes his escape in a Landcrab.

Corolla estate.

As ever with a programme from this era it's good to see actors who pop up in other shows, either at the tail end of a long career or on their way to greater things. We recently had a relatively subdued Brian Blesed playing a vicar, and Sarah Greene's mum.

Got taken out today by me ma and stepdad. They made me buy some new clothes which they paid for, lunch a nice walk around Buckingham and Banbury then an afternoon at theirs.

I said thanks by washing our cars! Mine was very green

No after pics because it just came up clean but it was nice to get it done! Noted that my front drivers wing is really quite rusty at the bottom though...

Also my stepdad checking his tyre pressures...

On the way home the dash lit up saying all 4 tyres had dropped about half their psi really suddenly OMG STOP!! when they hadn't really... Apparently it happens fairly frequently...

Wouldn't have posted, but I didn't notice the reg at the time so obviously when I got home had to check to see if it was @SmokinWaffle.

Must be the season for them, I saw a tidy white BX estate in Buckingham today. H reg on pressed plates.

A701 Edinburgh to Moffat.

Oh yes. The most epic of drives ever in the van yesterday. Hardly any traffic, fantastic views, great bendy bits, fast road apart from a few 30s. If you've not done it yet, get it done.

That's not even one of the good roads!

Glad you enjoyed it😊

Today i had borrowed my works latest addition to its fleet,  one that will be used for visiting low end clients, tips and the eventual weighbridge when the gearbox explodes or the ticket runs out. Whichever comes first.

Upon seeing the car @Six-cylinder couldnt find the word to describe it.

I am so happy! After years of carrying an injustice  having been judged guilty until proved innocent by my then employer the P.O.  ,

The then boss has today  resigned from her current board positions and her church role ( and isnt that church role predictable).

Perhaps she would like to serve a month for every year that P.O. employers wrongly served.

Too much?

Rich Rebuilds gets hold of a Danish produced electric 3 wheeler, on a UK "Q" plate, and puts a bigger electric motor in it, powered by drill batteries.

Standard 2 hp and about 25 mph. Now 10 hp and 65mph (so far), with more to go, and an 80 mile range

Makes an Invacar look stable.
