Pete-M
^^^ That's a measure of how the base fuel price has risen more than anything else! Certainly is, but it's still not far off half price. Couple of years ago I got upset if I paid more than 35p/l for LPG.
M'coli
True: however, in 2008 when liquids were at a comparable level to today's prices, gas was in the mid-50s or so up to 60-ish.

Cavcraft
I'll be learning all about midwifes soon i hope... after 5 years of trying and two IVF sessions, Mrs T got a positive result this morning Very early days though (she'd only be 2 weeks) so trying not to get excited at the moment as things can go wrong , Plus we are trying to keep it very secret so don't tell anyone Excellent news Trig, good luck though I'm sure you won't need it. alf892
Good luck Mr and Mrs Trig.........in my experience they are only expensive for the first 18 yrears. We were pretty lucky as Mrs Alf had to have some pills to help concieve but after all the waiting (and wanking into pots) we were delighted when she finally got up the duff! Never been sorry either. AXrescuer
Last night I went to my 19 year old son's Police Attestation ceremony. Couldn't have been prouder and he looked very smart in his dress uniform. Made a nice change to escape the usual crap I have to put up with. Vin
Tomorrow night I'm going to see the LEGEND that is John Shuttleworth in the 'A Man with No More Rolls' tour. Apparently it was supposed to be 'No Morals' but Ken was a bit sloppy with the E-mail to the printers... I've seen him a few times now. I can't wait Obviously I'll let you all know if he does 'Y Reg'... Oh Yes. Congrats to Mr & Mrs Trigger

You know the Iranians had to put up with the Paykan (Hillman Hunter) for 40+ years, and these guys don't even want hear about it? Guest
I've been boycotting Chicago ever since I saw this: Also boycotting American bacon because it's all stripey like on cartoons, also American chocolate because it tastes like sick. Still, they sell root beer all over the joint. And have proper portion sizes. And you can have pancakes for breakfast. America has me torn sometimes. eddyramrod
Have you ever been to Chicago?????? The freeways are jammed and the surface-streets are almost as rough as Cypriot roads (but wider). A town best avoided unless you really have to do a Blues Brothers scenic pilgrimage. They were very good about me returning my hire car with so little gas in the tank that I had to push it onto the lot though...
Tayne
I actually quite liked Chicago. Birthplace of Hemmingway and the modern skyscraper, lots of Frank Loyd Wright's work and good blues clubs. But then I didn't drive whilst there, the urban sprawl is a bit mental.Chicago at sunset by Tayne, on Flickr They also have a shoe shop called Athlete's Foot! Mr_Bo11ox
I saw some pikeys towing a Mk6 Escort to the scrapyard today. It had been burned right out, all the paint was off it, no glass, and the interior was completely burned away to nowt. Despite this there was a lad sat in it, on the rusty metal seat frames, being towed along on a scratty bit of rope behind the usual Transit pick-up through rush hour Derby traffic!!!!
