Everybody says what a top guy he is but I get the same impression as Fred Dibnah , my way or the highway , I doubt his kids ever saw a beach , more like the bottom of an oily engine during the school holidays.

There's an aircraft museum somwhere that has a concorde in it. I was there about ten years ago. They let you go inside and have a look at the cockpit etc. It's very small inside. Claustrophobic even.

just south of Edinburgh

not far from the myreton motor museum,

Going to get a new trolley jack, thought I'd have a look at what Argos have..

Clearly none of the people who have asked questions about this should be allowed anywhere near a trolley Jack..

Questions like

Can this be used instead of ramps when carrying out an oil change?

I made a thing.

A friend of mine has some crazy brackets to hold his curtains on the wall.

...but they've got bent because he has a toddler. He was looking for recommendations for a fabricator. He'd made a plan and everything!...

I ordered some 5mm x 50mm flat bar and successfully made them. I was using gasless wire so the welds are pretty splattery but I'm pleased with the result.

It's also the main attraction at the new(ish) Aerospace Museum in Bristol.

If you're local and have kids I'd recommend it when it reopens. It's one of those places where you pay for admission once and then you can keep going back for a year for free.

I took my car back to my son's house yesterday and wandering back home passe a woman delving under the bonnet of her car (Ka) an stopped for a word.

Car was immaculate, she was removing the plugs, plug leads, vacuum hoses etc and cleaning them, replacing where needed.  Loads of tools in her crammed but very tidy garage.

She had been given a bit of a run around at a dealer and resorted to doing her own servicing, hasn't changed the oil yet and mentioned ramps so had a bit of a chat about trolley jacks and ramps, also Pela pumps and the like.  Seemed a clued up woman, probably late thirties early forties and sceptical of Halfords and the like.  Iranian I think, not that that matters but nice to see her digging in.

After 4 years and 2 months of ownership, the wife finally got inside the Sierra. Not only that, she drove it as I was doing a 5 car shuffle (not a euphemism).

A few minutes later...

This came just a few minutes before she nearly took the front wall out with the grey grille as she’d not thought through the potential impact of maximum choke, medium strength and minimum PAS. She then soiled herself trying to brake as the carpet under the lower dash is falling down.

Very amusing all told, 9/10 would recommend.

Did they get a triumph badge for spotting the Herald and the 2000 in the picture, if they'd asked her to move a bit they'd have a much better view.... of the cars

Is the 2000 a mk2  2.5 with the alloys ?
