Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk When I first read that, I thought the new monthly price was the yearly and wasn't so bad. My first policy in 2003 was £1300 a year on a 2yr old Civic when I was just 18. Current inflation since makes that a whisker over £2k. That was the cheapest after shopping around and most were way more. So tbf prices haven't gone up too much over the years.
beko1987
I remember the sadness of my amended insurance quote when I passed, that was £200ish a month. I lived at home back then so could afford to pay it, it dropped right down on year
Tartan58
Wowzer, I remember paying £3k to insure my first car a 1991 R8 214SLi, this was in 1999. Makes me happy that now we pay £500 a year combined for both mine and my wifes car on a multi-car policy - one of the few joys of getting old. Not looking forward to when the twins hit 17 as I imagine that will be crippling shelling out for two at the same time, still they're only 5 just now so cars will probably be impossible to crash by then and insurance will no longer be required*
paulplom
Mine was £850 in about 1992. I ticked on an f reg metro base for 3k. I stuffed it 6 months later and had 2.5 years left to pay. I replaced the front valance, bumper rad etc and swapped it for a w reg orange supersport which I hammered and then scrapped. #Hindsight.Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk

myglaren
Bought my first car in 1978, a shite Hillman Minx. Insurance was £12 - a year I had been driving for 13 years but always had a company car or van. LightBulbFun

MorrisItalSLX
The estate would be much better for transporting chicken wire and shovels plus the 4wd would help on the steep bits of the field, but good luck finding one that hasn’t been run into the ground. myglaren
High Jetter
There weren't many around, but I definitely recall seeing the odd one around from time to time. Perhaps similar in rarity to the Civic Shuttle 4wd.

Also sads that these caravans are someone main home. Homelessness is rife in Bristol and just hidden below the surface. Not only those living on the streets but those sofa surfing and living in old caravans/vans. Somewhere on these pages is a photo of that Landrover, taken by me in 2013. Parked in what is obviously it's private spot where no-one else dares to stop. Will see if I can find it. , I seem to remember a Disco was behind it then.
