Found this fantastic 4-part documentary from 1990 about Policing the M25, some superb chod and a sad incident between a beige BX that rear ended brand new G-reg Cavalier (at 4:50)

The BX was presumably repaired and lasted until 1998 as did the Cavalier which passed away in 2001

H885 GKF - MK2 Golf at 7:25 was changed from black to blue at some point and last MOT expired in January 2012. Only 67k miles at the last, clean, test.

G974 XJD - 1990 Mercedes 500SL at 10:22 went on until 2006.

E463 KEF - 1987 Mercedes van (Haddonstone Ltd) at 22:29 is on SORN. Copmany still exists and is still at The Horge House.

YS 8459 - 1936 Lagonda at 9:17 had it's last MOT in December 2008 and the tax expired in April 2010. I can't find anything online about it.

Braw, the G51 ESC wasn't a rallye though

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yep you're right, just checked the reg of another and they are actually registered as a Rallye 4WD. I assumed because they were low volume they were just registered as GTi's.

Edit: Just Googled the plate and this thread on VWVortex claims that this is the same car:

And here it is with Rallye front end and G51 ESC:

BBC Television Entertainment Department produced "Harold Baim's Britain on Film" featuring 30 minutes of clips from twenty-three of the British films. The programme is part of the "On Film" series and it was first broadcast on BBC Four on 27 July 2011, repeated 29 May 2012. The BBC press release said the documentary:

"...recalls the strange Britain of this remarkable film-maker. Working from the Forties to the Eighties, Baim only filmed on sunny days and used the voices of baffled actors, Telly Savalas among them. Despite their weirdness, Baim's films record a Britain that's gone for ever."
