Low ontime
1 hour ago, brownnova said: I like the light evenings. So when it had finally finished pissing down I had a little time to do something car related! The Pontiac had been off the road since winter, due to a misfire. Being it’s usual winter lay up that was all fine, but the MoT ran out this month. Top suspect was the coils: so I changed them first… This is 2/3 of the way through…. The last bolt was almost rounded off, and it was a bugger to get off. Why is it always the last one! Anyway, the good news is that it does appear to have been the coils, as it’s running fine now! I need to give it a test run to check it behaves on a run, but fingers crossed that solves it. I have bought new leads too, but I was starting to lose the light (as that last bolt was a bastard) and they’re fiddly as they are down the back of the V. Next stop MoT! Nice result! don’t see many of these, there is a white version in Torquay that looks to have not moved in years! brownnova

So perfectly possible that if it lives in Saltdean it could be going along the A259! There used to be a red one round the corner from my work, it was always parked up on Avis Way. I find them strangely alluring 🤣 Not up country yet… Monday I’m up in Manchester for work though so not far off in your prediction 😅 RoverFolkUs

Joey spud
Subaru Brat news. I am about to put my house up for sale and the estate agent has advised that seven cars and an 80's caravan with half a floor on the front (I don't think he clocked the Minor up the end of the garden) might put potential buyers off. So the old Subaru in the corner by the road was unearthed and moved up on the driveway. Its had a cheap car cover on it throughout the winter months for the last four years and despite internet opinion saying otherwise the paint hasn't bubbled or been abraded and allowing for it being red it hasn't particularly faded either. I have changed the tyres to 195/60's instead of previously fitted rakish 195/50 x15 tyres. I think the bigger tyre suits it and will give it longer legs too, alas my son says the opposite. And while having a dig through the shed a while back i refound the bash plate and wing undergaurds for it so spent way too long remembering how they fitted and what fixing went where. I needed a battery too so at around four pm yesterday i went on to the Tayna battery site and ordered a nice Exide jobby and it turned up at 9.30 today. Happily it's charged to the brim and not been sitting around for weeks on a cold concrete floor somewhere degrading. I can now drive it down and park it up at my vacant new abode and now just need to re-home the soggy caravan. richardmorris
Very quick polish - first time in four years! Autoglym and this dodo juice for the black trim and tyres. Not used it before but leaves a nice solid matt finish. Yoss, Burnside, Tickman and 7 others

Arnt buyers daft- it shows what ample space you have for parking, which is usually something they make a big thing of in the sale particulars. It would encourage me! 320touring
Big progress on the Oxford today, thanks to @captain_70s it didn't start off the best, But after some attention to valve clearances, a new spark plug and a new fuel hose route, it was successful as the video shows. Think this is the first time it has run on 4 cyls since I have had it. trigger
Dad bought this 1978 MG Midget 1500 last summer from the mechanic next to his barn, long story but it had been in his garage for 6 years and now the owner wanted it sold and dad stepped in thinking it be a nice project roll on about a month ago and we decided to start getting it ready for the road, we spent a few Saturdays trying to get it run until eventually going though all the fuel system and now it runs like a dream, it's needed new switches and some pretty shoddy repairs doing properly but today we managed to get it pretty much finished, par just a drivers seat belt and needing to polybush the front trunnions and then it's going on Ebay as dad can't physically get in the car and them bucket seats are a bit too narrow for my liking. I got the new number plates from fancyplates, I was pretty impressed with them, in the correct pre 2001 font too I must say it's a lot of fun to drive and after struggling to fit a speedo cable to the gearbox i managed to find a 5th gear whilst on a road test! It looks like it has a type 9 box fitted which was unexpected! It also has a bloody powerful stereo that runs from your phone into a amp in the back, the roof is a bit shite though! Lets say it's more of a fair weather car! richardmorris, puddlethumper, SiC and 18 others

stuboy
The mighty v6 started to cut out, and so I decided to clean the icv, swap the k&n filter for a pipercross, and noticed the multiplug on the coil securing tang had disembarked.. so using the preferred autoshite method of cable tie .. wishing I was more agile and slimmer too.
