Dropped the Cavalier off for its MOT, I didn't know the exhaust was that bad. Otherwise not bad at all.

Thankfully I don't need to mess about with the handbrake this year though.

I'll get an exhaust ordered up, hopefully it'll arrive within the retest period.

I was going to say I can tell you all the exhaust part numbers I've used to order my replacement bits...so you can avoid them. ๐Ÿ˜‚

@Tubbo ever since I was a lad I've known not to leave keys in a car with central locking, let alone known faulty central locking, without at least one window down so you can reach them. You just never know.

Yes this is true, which is why I posted it, so you can all have a laugh at my expense!

Ah yes, but how many cars have you had the pleasure of actually putting a window through with a brick? There is something immensely satisfying about stoving a car window in like a mentalist.

Soz to hear about the damage @Tubbo, tape a binbag over the hole for the full "I drive a Corsa and IDGAF" look?

I always do this if I'm leaving the Mondeo running when I'm down at my lockup or if loading/unloadingย - despite it never playing up that way. I had thought I'm a bit paranoid, but maybe there's logic!

Will try to get back to you tonight!

No worries. As you can imagine, for both neighbourly and wifey relations, I can't have a slowly disintegrating heap on the drive for too long ๐Ÿ˜†

I plan to start tearing into it the weekend after this coming weekend. Just an idea of what bits you might be interested in, so I can remove them more carefully. ๐Ÿ‘

I've done this with any of our various Land/Range Rovers over the years.

Always crack a window open as soon as I start it up.

Unbelievable, I sold this a couple of days ago for ยฃ3300 and its already up on Facebook for ยฃ5500! He hasn't even bothered to take new photos! Mega annoying

Whilst I agree it's annoying I'd try to look at it as he's ยฃ3300 (+ transport costs) out of pocket, money he possibly had to borrow, and will be for some time!ย  I can't see many people reading that ad and thinking that spending over ยฃ5k on a 240 is a good idea.

People can ask what they want for a price. Doesn't mean it'll sell at that of course!

Classic car market especially has slowed right down. So much stuff is not shifting.

Flipping classic cars is going to be a risky business at the moment. Especially at this time of year when the classic car market starts slowing down in the next month or so.ย

All true, just annoying though, to be honest I sold it at what I think it's worth, the rear panel is rotten, there's a hole in the wheel tub on the offside as well as needing a new arch and the mileage is likely incorrect plus it was crash damaged and the tailgate was crooked and wiring damaged in the hinges

It would make a good daily at ยฃ3300 but it's certainly no ยฃ5500 car without new arches, cambelt and back panel

Good luck to him. It always astounds me when people buy a car at seemingly market value and then immediately try and flip it without improving it in any way. What are they thinking? The fact he doesn't seem to know how to spell orย use capital letters is going to put people off anyway.ย ย He will never sell it at that price.

๐Ÿ˜‚ Have to start calling you Mystic Meg!ย

To be fair I made ยฃ1000 on it so I can't complain but it's annoying when you do all the hard work for some other twat to flip it straight away making no effort for a big 'profit', His Facebook profile is fake as well, his real names Howard.ย

I had the same happen earlier this year when I sold that Fiesta Van too ๐Ÿ™„

Same happened to your P6 too didn't it?ย

He might never sell it, he's taking a big punt especially at the moment. Or he might and be quids in. Like you say, you've made your money and had a cool car to smoke around in for a bit.ย

Plus you did say the ones up for big money (that was Family Fortunes, not Price is Right though) have been hanging around for a bit so you probably priced it right for a quick sale.ย

As said they'll never sell it. The same happened to the guy that bought my old Cavalier. He kept it and improved it for a year but as soon as he sold it to a guy called Sean, it was back up on Gumtree by someone who expected us to believe his name was Henry, described as a 2.0 when it was just a 1.8 and wanting to swap for an Impreza. He was rumbled in quick time.

Agreed it happens but, I hate to say it, these folk are just wannabes without any clue what they are doing. He'll never make a penny.
