Well that's a bit more like it.

It's amazing what three shiny new platinum-tipped Bosch spark plugs can do.  It's still got a bit of a missfire but at least it will now move under its own power.  I'm going to replace the remaining three plugs and see if that sorts it.

I'm still curious as to why the front three plugs all decided to shart themselves simultaneously though.  Maybe it's just one of those "because NGK" things.

Far north in Norway a bridge broke on the main road north/south today and the only detour is 200+ km via Finland so if you commute over this bridge everyday you will now get over 400 km extra driving to get to work. I'm guessing someone has some really bad days ahead. Norwegian authorities hope to get the 70+ year old bridge bodged together within a few weeks.

Driving back down the m40 yesterday afternoon I passed a suitably shabby x reg red Porsche (924 non turbo?- the badges were missing / dropped off). Anyone here? It was well filled up, and looked like a young guy driving. If it’s a student hack then it’s very well done!

I thought I was going mad ....

This is a screenshot of my email alert .....have noticed it before a few times .... anyone know whyScreenshot_20220531-230625.thumb.png.3d9790f5461b98a993b27e630055d032.png

The balance of the universe is now restored, I have a van again. I’ve bought and collected a reasonably priced Citroen Dispatch, with DW8 engine, from west Norfolk.
It drove back to Tamworth with no issues, although it does appear slower than normal for one of these. The exhaust has a strange whistle, almost as if it’s clogged / blocked - one to investigate.
Over the next few weeks it will get a full service and timing belt, oil leak and tardiness sorted. I’ve missed having a van around, they make life so much easier.

The exhaust can block on them. We had a sale van do it so badly it wouldn't go over 40. In fact it wouldn't rev to max with no load on until we disconnected the egr pipe, whereupon it would

Went to Anglesey trsnsport museum. A few bits of chod - rover's, lotus carltons and military vehicles like the humber pig and saracen. This was my favourite though.

It is really good there. The brown Maestro always stands out!

In another case of Bren and brownnova are always close without ever meeting I’ve been camping on Anglesey the last couple of days…

Van MOT today.  Wish me luck.

Hasn't been out in a while so suspect my old friend brake imbalance will be back.  Though mostly I'm just praying the cab hasn't dissolved any further as that would be the biggest headache.

Great start.  "Loads of stuff in front of you, you'll have to leave it with us, mate.  We'll try to fit it in."

So what precisely was the point of me booking it in at a specific time (bearing in mind I had to book it in around two and a half weeks in advance)?

The hassle of trying to get this thing tested every year as you're limited where you can take it is one thing which makes me contemplate selling it every time.

Odds on the phone ringing about 30 seconds before I get home?

I think the confusion might have been more due to the car being mentioned as a 924 in the thread but a 124 in the email alert?

Original post sets off the email alerts. Then the post edited for corrections after but that change won't be shown in the email alert as the email already has been sent.

An old mate, who I've not seen for a while popped round at lunchtime to show me the car he'd just bought for his 17 year old daughter. I think it was a FIAT. I'd not seen his daughter for ages either, probably since she was about 9 or 10. It turns out that it’s really poor form for a chap to say, 'Christ Bill, she's certainly got her mother’s tits hasn’t she?'

Erm.................photos !! ?

Thanks, I thought it was a Sotheby’s car but couldn’t find it. Here it is.

not sold at 6-8 million! Crazy world. Anyone else look out of their window today and see £6million pounds idling?

On a bus tip: I'm on an Iveco something en route to Barcelona airport. It has the triangle & exclamation mark of success on the dash, plus something sellotaped into place.

Feels pretty new as well. No idea what sort of Iveco it is, sorry bus nerds.

Yesterday at university, I spotted a box of old design books and annuals that one of my teachers had. He dug out some of the books and magazines for me after I asked about them, and in that box were a few British Design and Art Direction awards annuals from the 1970's and 80's.

I had a flick through them, a lot of great ads in them. I took a few photos, I'm might ask if I could scan a few of them to keep a better copy.

Enjoy the chod.
