Ghosty
I'm pretty pleased with how the Civic sedan came out after its recent partial respray. Mimms Honda Day Three Sisters is coming up (the UK Honda show - and they bother to hold north and south events unlike most), and it's only in Wigan, so I thought to myself, I'll apply for show and shine, why the fuck not, it's not like I have a club stand to be on, and the general Honda parking will be right at the back if it's anything like Santa Pod was. Checked my junk mail - I've only bloody been accepted. Get the fuck in. Dyslexic Viking, mercedade, oldcars and 4 others

Sticking with late 80s stuff, almost, I have put these in the lazy spotters thread recently but this morning they were parked opposite each other allowing me to get these much better pics of the two together. Bren
Had my first dose of new meds at asthma unit. I knew it would be fortnightly and eventually I would have to inject myself ( I have done this before ) - what I didn't know was one shot is three injections. Every two weeks. I will be like a charity shop dartboard. Did three peak flow tests which left me feeling like I had ran a marathon.
C3C3
Huh. So for shits and giggles I got the original color code mixed and sprayed it on. The original paint has really faded that much? It looks bloody orange compared to the real thing! It looks so good that I'm going to pull the engine and do the entire car in one go after getting the passenger side rot repair done. I was going to leave it for a later date. Ghosty
This will be fun - I've won a rather legitimate looking, poorly listed Nardi Classic on ebay - collection only in Bolton. It's worth a lot more than £52 if legit. The seller has a load of Evo parts for sale, seems they've cut one up. Part of me is expecting a fake wheel or something. vulgalour
I took a risk and flatted back the reacted third coat of paint on the filler flap. It went well, didn't bother going all the way to perfectly smooth since the paint I'm using is on the thicker side and I didn't want to waste bags of time if it was just going to react again. Results were promising. Wasn't clogging the paper, hadn't gone through to primer or had any visible thin spots so risked a fourth and hopefully final coat. Happily, no reaction on this round! I'll let this harden for a few days and then I can cut and polish it. It's fresh off the brush there so it's a bit wibblywobbly. Now it's had a bit of time to settle out, it's much better and you can see yourself in it so I'm happy enough with that. On the larger areas I'm going to use a roller so I can get the paint down more evenly and quicker, there's not a lot of working time with this one and I don't want to be messing about with flow improvers and retarders and whatever. Even though I slapped a load of pink on the car because I was impatient, this is the real test sample and I've a better idea of how this paint behaves and what finish to expect of it now. End result won't be a deep gloss and that's okay. As long as the car is tidy and shiny at the end of it, I don't really mind that it's going to look less shiny than a modern paint. I'm determined to get this job done this year, when weather allows I'll be cracking on with the pink since that part of the car needs the least amount of prep work and only a couple of trim holes welding up. davehedgehog31
The 320D has been getting further attention, mainly in the form of interior improvements. Sick ICE install; This executive sports tourer from 2003 must have been ordered by a right skinflint old giffer. Has optional wood trim, but was also fitted with a tape player only, no CD changer. I have been very impressed with the £30 head unit. It sounds really decent and the bluetooth connectivity is great. The charging port does so at a satisfactory rate. I've fitted the same unit to the Kangoo now. A few before and afters of some other improvements; Browsing eBay I came across a set of 16 inch, style 306 BMW wheels. They had a day to run and had attracted only one bid. Done a last minute snipe and won them for the princely and appropriate sum of £3.20. They were a ferry ride away in Dunoon, so a day out on the ferry with my kid was arranged. The wheels look alright, particularly for 80p a corner; A couple of the Pirelli tyres are OK but pretty old. Think I'll get them shod with some new tyres and hopefully punt the current seven spoke wheels on and maybe claw £50 or so back. Think these new wheels will suit it quite nicely. davehedgehog31
Et voila, £3.20 eBay alloy wheels on. I think they look pretty smart. They're Style 306 wheels from a much later 3 series, think they were on the "efficient dynamics" model. I had ordered four Bridgestone tyres from National. Took the wheels loose to get the tyres fitted. They wouldn't fit them without the wheels being on the car... I was stunned. I received a refund and bid them a warm* farewell. Not wanting to waste a trip and being pretty busy til next week I went to the one man band round the corner. He sold me some premium* brand "Autogreen" tyres for a very reasonable sum, very much a cash only operation. Time will tell if they're any use. catsinthewelder, JMotor, dome and 11 others
