Cleaned, rotary polished and waxed the 1100 this afternoon.

Didn't go mental with the polish as the paint isn't the best. Pictures flatter, but I think it turned out well.

This evening I put £40 of super unleaded into it at 1.67p litre.

My brain still can't comprehend that super is 10p less than run of the mill diesel I put in the Navara.

2x free Astra G petrol radiators on my scrap pile if anyone wants them, one for post 01 and one for pre 01 models. Brand new, just out the box this morning.

Bought in error about 15 years ago, nobody wants them so the scrap man is coming tomorrow afternoon together with a pile of other dross.

Bonnybridge, Central Scotland if anyone wants them before then.

Turns out that when your fuel gauge doesn't work you can run out of petrol easier.

Fortunately I got my old Volvo home but now it won't start. I did wonder why the mot station put fuel in... but only a tenners. Doesn't go far on a tenners worth  apparently.

Given two 5 litre cans cost me £24 a couple of weeks ago, it wouldn't!

In answer to the question nobody except Mrs ODM is asking…will a £10 eBay win of a 2m by 3m shed fit in an Espace…

I did that to get a similar sized freebie summer house in my Hijet van, 5 years and a house move ago. It's still in my lock-up.

Not so good news:

I was kind of expecting this on at least one of the 93 Cabs as they all go there. The red one was slightly crusty on the offside but OK, and spotless on the nearside.

The black one was fine on the nearside but it's weakened on the drivers side.

On both cars I pulled out lots of caked mud here, clearly a poor design.

The rest of the underside looks great though so absolutely worth sorting out.

FFS :D I tried and tried that 😕

Front tyre looks low!

I know I thought that the first day I brought home, it's just because the wheels have been turned to the straight on position to get it where it sits. Pressure is good. Every car my wife has had looks like that in its spot 🤣

Because I couldn't be at Cadwell this weekend, I was determined to give the Dyane a run on Drive-It Day.  So earlier, a pleasant couple of hours were spent randomly thrashing around mid-Staffs with the roof off.  Saw a TR5, something vintage, some classic motorcycles on a jolly, and a late-60s Dodge Charger.

Have since failed to changed the brake pads and fit the new sun blind!

We saw a few nice things en-route. I particularly liked the well worn Austin heavy 10? ( gumdrop) with

the “ Arouga”swan necked bulb horn. A few MGs, a silver birch DB5, Capri, some American cars, the roof chopped CX surf thing. Lots of people in normal cars waved too.

Lots of classics on the A548 in north wales - mk 1 essy, capri, cortina - saw an xj6 as well.

Felt sorry for the owner of the blue maxi on the hard shoulder of the M56.

I felt ashamed at the SD1 languishing in the garage - when I got home I fitted the copper brake pipes I made months ago.

Was watching this Škoda on ebay, just out of curiosity of course.

With 42 minutes left it was on about £1800. I went away to do other things, when I came back...

The world truly has gone mad. I think I've missed the boat on these now.

"How do you double the value of a Skoda?"

"Fill it with fuel"

The joke from that era no longer applies it seems! Ignoring inflation, a 130 GL would have been about 4 grand ish new I think?
