Yep, we've got that here. There are a Shell and BP literally on the opposite sides of the road from each other and they had a difference of about 15p per litre on petrol and 20 on diesel during the week. It's been going on for months since the nonsense last autumn which pushed prices up, they never came back down Someone's pockets have been lined with gold among all this... Popular Post trigger
I've been offered a car today, apparently a 1 owner from new, he won it on holiday in 1982 in Scarborough whist staying at a hotel, he's owned it ever since but is now 81 and is too scared to drive it but I must say the body work is mint. I'm not sure what it's worth or if I really have room for it? . paulplom, Dick Longbridge, cort16 and 52 others

There's likely to be international interest. Likely the person that buys it will modify it slightly. Add cross 14 inch alloys and better brakes. (Mk3 GSi brakes will fit under a 14 inch wheel) Eyersey1234 and trigger

It'll be down to whatever price the garage had to pay when they bought the fuel Once the older/cheaper garage has restocked they'll soon adjust they're prices RoverFolkUs and BeEP

brownnova
Two bits of car good news yesterday… Firstly, after stumbling across a thread on a Saab forum describing the exact issue with my 9000 (having looked previously and not found anything) I worked out that the aircon clutch is what had seized. So simply disconnecting the aircon would mean the car will run fine… now this is rather simple so I’m not quite sure why I hadn’t worked that out before! So (once I had charged the battery) would it work? Of course it would. First time and everything! Gave it a little test run, and decided when I popped to the garage later I would book it an MoT… Why was I at the garage? Another years motoring assured for the Trans Sport! beko1987, mitsisigma01, LightBulbFun and 20 others
Timewaster
@trigger that Astra is some GM base model brilliance. I haven't seen a mk1 Astra in years and a round headlight saloon in decades. Brilliant cars. chaseracer

One owner from new, fantastic condition and fascinating backstory with photographic evidence. It would do well, I'm sure. trigger
I thought it was quite late for a early spec, that's probably why it was given away in a competition, it may have sat around for a while and perhaps couldn't sell it? I haven't posted about it before, it's never been on the market, I have a friends who interested but I'm still debating it myself but it would have to replace the Dolomite Eyersey1234 and HillmanImp
Dick Longbridge
I'd imagine it would feel very modern in contrast to the Dolly. Possibly less charismatic as a result? Cracking example of a mk1 Astra though. trigger and Eyersey1234

Joey spud
My Granvia had a fail to proceed the other day,I suspected it was a blocked filter although the filter was a genuine one and looked fairly new. So I bunged a new Bosch one on and normal service was resumed. But just confirm it was deffo the filter I cut the old one open and had a look inside Yep that's knackered. I don't think Toyota have changed their fuel filter design for about thirty years. Dyslexic Viking and Six-cylinder
Joey spud
I was a YTS trainee at a Vauxhall Dealer when these booted Astra's were nearly new and to be honest the 1200cc pushrod engine compared to the OHC engine was a wheezy underpowered turd that wore out very quickly. Still nice to see though. trigger and Barry Cade
SiC
Went to a car meet today with a mate. Mostly modern stuff but a few older stuff that caught my interest. First one was for @vulgalour. Ignore the Lamborghini Ur Anus in the background spoiling this picture. Not sure this was a visitor or just a knackered Fiesta abandoned in the car park. What was the best car there? This one! Not sure if the person who bought it on here ever outed himself. However it is great to see it out, about and being used.
