wuvvum
Fired up the Charade at lunchtime to run it down to the car park to finish fitting the air horn, and I noticed a distinct puff of blue smoke from the exhaust. I hope it's not starting to go the same way as the Wobblermobile - although it has done over 100K and I think it's a bit of a TADTS with them. It cleared after about a minute anyway so hopefully I've still got a while before it starts failing the MOT on emissions. I might try sticking a treatment in it to see if that helps. Or give it an oil change with thicker oil.
EightMegs
I've decided to substitute a universal steering rack gaiter and a piece of PLA for a Toyota bump stop and I bet the NCT inspector won't notice! reb
STUNO
A farmer got a wee bit overenthusiastic with making his bonfire burn better. The local Fire Brigade was on scene the first time I passed, it is still there today, a couple of weeks later. Now with added fuel. grogee
Took the Puma on the school run this morning. I was presented with a choice of 2 (two) working cars to choose from, a rarity in itself. Decided on the Puma mainly because it warms up nice and quickly. Now that it doesn't try to asphyxiate me when the car isn't moving, I was struck by how much I like it. I wasn't even going fast - didn't exceed 30mph, yet it was still fun to drive a few miles. The heated windscreen novelty still hasn't worn off, either. Just brilliant. captain_70s
Should me measure out these parking spaces? Nah, just eyeball it. Can't go wrong. Semi-related. For me, definitely the latter. For those with a garage it's not relevant. Maybe it sort of depends on your eyesight - short sighted more likely to be bothered by the filaments than long sighted? reb
I'm away to drop some parts for my old fiesta off with my tame mechanic who is doing MOT prep on it for the new owner. Cookiesouwest
Mrs CSW messaged. 'Someone hit my car, while it was parked outside work', followed by a large number of expletives, including much use of C U Next Tuesday. Much panic on my part, till she sent a picture. Dyslexic Viking
Snow chaos day 4. Got only 30 centimeters with snow last night so snow clearing has gone a little easier today. Have without exaggerating over 1.5 meters of snow on flat ground now and snow piles are higher. Was also contacted by the news who wanted to take an interview about the snow chaos something I declined. barefoot
Fuck me that's some snow! I'm posting more about twats than cars at the mo, because both the Rover & the SCirocco are pissing me off. The VW needed some suspension bits & a mixture fiddle for the MOT, what feels like an eon later, I've finally got it running just how I like it again, but it still pulls to the right. The first specialist tyre place I took it to was staffed by young lads who were all called 'Half a job Bob'. Crap. No point complaining, I took it elsewhere to a bloke with a beard who tells me that there are siezed bolts with specialist washers which he will order. He will call me when they arrive & he promises that all will be sorted. The 75 on the othet hand has a minor coolant leak, the parts have arrived, but they came late & the car missed its repair slot. It will be sorted tomorrow and in theory I should be a happy bunny again in time for xmas. Jim Bell, Sigmund Fraud and Tickman
