I always feel so bad when I hit something - I felt awful for days when my Mazda headbutted a pigeon. (as a side note - it's amazing how many feathers a pigeon actually has. I did a similar thing in my first Volvo going possibly slightly faster than I should have been on my way home from work at 4:30 in summer, pigeon flew out in front of me and just fucking exploded. I'm pretty sure there's still feathers in it now and it's been off the road for years.

I got it for $30 for the job lot which is pretty good, as these 1950's/early 60's copies of Wheels go for $15-$20 each. They're very good condition considering how old they are, I'll scan some articles for Shite Magazine Scans. Snap! Bought these on Trademe a few months ago and my cousin picked them up for me. We finally met up last night, so I was able to see what I'd received. Think I paid about $20, from memory - which is actually quite a bit for me, with my tight-arse tendencies and all. I've got a few 50's issues now, a few more 60's issues and from '74-1989, I've only got one issue missing! I've also got loads from 1990 onwards (bought a massive job lot years ago cheap) but it's pre-1990 that interests me most. As you can see, there are some duplicates and I have other duplicates, too. Happy to send duplicates to you for the cost of postage from NZ to Aus, if you'd like. Austat and Vantman

JJ0063
Had a call this morning from a local but big name in the area recovery firm offering an interview next week for a class 2 tilt and slide recovery role. Sounds bloody perfect for what I want - home based with the truck, 6 on 3 off and salary is between 7-9k more than I’m on now. To some it would be the worst job ever but this is my dream job and I’ve wanted to do it for many years so I’ll be giving it my all. Zelandeth
I'm sorry...what the hell? Just unbolted the exhaust manifold from the head...the last thing I said before starting was "Okay, let's place our bets on how many I snap..." Every single one unbolted without any drama whatsoever. Okay, 50/50 as to whether the nut unscrewed or it wound the stud out, but that's irrelevant to me at this stage. What madness is this?!? Split_Pin
A lot of work done on this recently. Welding to offside sill at rear (cost £0 -did it myself) I replaced the full cooling system as the radiator was corroded and blocked. New radiator, water pump, thermostat, fan switch, fans tested, coolant and I also replaced a few small pipes that were soft and leaking. Straight through the MOT with only 2 advisories for front bushes and discs New timing belt and tensioner today as the tensioners weren't done last time. Bottom pulley bolts had turned to chocolate so I'm glad I didn't attempt this myself. Total cost including parts, the MOT and labour where I didn't do the work myself came to £264. I took it to the Tartan Tarmac breakfast meet on Sunday and amongst about 95% very, very expensive and/or exotic cars, it seemed to be a refreshing change for the other attendees and got quite a bit of attention. A good choice of budget retro car I'd say. stripped fred, LabRat, Dyslexic Viking and 18 others
Yoss
On my delivery on Monday there was a tree down right across the road. By the time I took this picture most of it had been cut up but when we first turned in to the road it was a sea of green right the way across. I was off yesterday but when I got to the same spot today I found this. I had no idea there was a car underneath it at the time. Shame as its quite unusual if not particularly interesting.
