He'll be a candidate for lower back problems later in life.

Because of the lowering/ride of his car or because of height. Being 6ft 5 myself I have to stand crooked/stooped to use most everyday items.

One of the reasons why I’m quite fussy over cars I look to purchase.

In other news my planned day of automotive exhaust hanging was sidelined after some twat builder blocked up 3 garages (including mine) in the block with a 7.5 tonner.

I found it funny that I bought and ran a BMW and a Porsche for less than a decent small second hand 5 year old supermini.

A colleague at work once slated me for my old cars.

He soon shut up when I asked him how many warning lights he had on the dash of his then still pretty new fat arsed Megane which cost a fuckload more than my old 944

I finished cleaning the Cavalier this afternoon, scrubs up well I think.

Then went out for a socially distanced meet in a car park. It was great to see everyone again after such a long time.

I stretched its legs along the motorway prior to the meet and I can really see why these were so popular. I intended to keep the run gentle at around 60mph but I looked and I was doing an indicated 75. The car is so quiet I didn't even notice.

The 2.0 Cavaliers always felt much brisker than they had any right to be. Back when I passed my test, they were just getting to be an old car. I guess probably where the Vectra C is now.

That might be an issue.

It is a lovely car but - and its simply doing exactly as designed here, the drive is so ordinary.

Ive got a timing belt kit and rocker cover gasket in the post so I'll fit all that, drive it about some more and then decide.

With the money from the Corsa, the wheels on this and the car itself, I could get something more interesting as a pure hobby car.

Looking out of my window the sky is completely cloudless but I can see at least ten contrails in various states of degradation.  So either things are starting to get back to normal or it's plane loads of people trying to get back from India before the travel ban kicks in...

Check them out: https://www.flightradar24.com/52.47,0.36/9

I think you have spotted the charter flights; there were supposed to be at least 10 coming from India with the express intention of beating the ban...

I was driving around and stumbled upon a Crafter that seemed way too rusty for its age.

Then I looked at the plates.

From the UK to Portugal is quite the long way!

Well that was fun...just on my way back from dropping another car load of rubbish off at the tip and the Xantia decided to play up.  Specifically it decided to do nothing when I turned the key to start save for a relay clicking under the dash.

On about the fifth try it fired up as normal...and I've been unable to make it do it again.

Great.  Another thing to be investigated I need to add to the list for that car.

Seems to have either changed owners recently, or the owner changed his address....

Nervous knot in my stomach for the next few days.

Mortgage provider is doing the valuation on the house we're buying.  It was for sale at offers between 145-150 and we offered on the lower end of things.

It's slightly cheaper than surrounding houses, in great condition and when looking at Zoopla etc and property prices are going up again but fucks sake this process takes time.

Can't wait for it to be finished. 🤞

Mortgage approval came through this afternoon. What a relief. Things are going well, surprisingly.

There's a Range Rover P38 (probably around a 1998 model at a guess) that's been sat outside the LR specialist near work for a few weeks. LHD, Portuguese plates, rust free but massive lacquer peel. They've recently moved it into their yard at the back where they keep cars for spares, so I guess something expensive has packed up over here, and the owners have abandoned it and flown home after receiving a quote for the repairs.

Coming threw my town to go home and get blocked...

"Oh a fire?"...*opens window*..."OH A RUNAWAY"

Amazing how little people cared, just doing a turn in road and fucking off. Myself & someone else stayed till the smoke & engine had died then drove down to see if everyone was fine & exactly what was up & if people were okay. As expected the guy had just topped up his oil and put a tad too much.  Shame. Someone had called the fire brigade too thinking it was a full on fire.

An unmarked police car & officer had arrived by this point (The Police station is just down the same road, likewise the Fire station, which is part timers) and then asked, then seen about getting it moved to the woodland carpark about a 1000 meters down the road. Funniest thing was when the 3 of us (The owner of the car was attending to there child) went to push it a car was trying to speed past, when we tried to say "hold on the roads blocked" the driver shouted "FUCK OFF IM AWAY TO A FIRE" then sped past. Once moved and all safe I then had to make way for a fire engine...Kinda wish I'd stayed a little longer so could find the same guy and go "Fuck off, there's no fire".
