Miniaturisation means it's a fraction of the size of the conventional Halfrauds 11A charger that I've had since the 1990s.

In it's never ending quest to live up to its heritage, the mg6 has now shat it's passenger door locking mechanism. Whilst the bloody door is closed and deadlocked.

I now have to destroy the door card, thanks to a piss poor design and manually force the lock from inside the door itself. Then I can get the door open and the window regulator fitted, along with a new lock  and somehow find a replacement door card. 

I swear, it actually wants to become bean tins!

Hopefully back on the road by middle of next week.

Replacement tyre fitted and welding has been done today. Coolant hose due to be delivered Monday so fingers crossed the emissions will be ok.

Ah, I see some quality* design has been carried over from the Rover 75.

In good news, my dad won a premium bond prize this month- the first time since 1954! Shame it was only £25 though. In pics above the o/s suspension bolt to the subframe has gone.  Rick has gone home to find answers to things like, are the bolts and bushes still available, how to drop the rear suspension and what happens if there are more problems? In the meantime I am looking at car and classic and have got the 2cv out of hibernation.

Yes, and don’t know! The body isn’t actually rusty, just the bolt has gone-rusted away or snapped we couldn’t tell. The big problem could be that everything has been there since 1994 and everything needs to be replaced. And if everything is available.

It will be fine its a W124.

Tempting! I’ve just been looking on autotrader,  but I don’t really know what I would replace it with modern (ish) wise. I like the new Alfa Guilia, DS 4, 5 and that’s about it. CCbenz has a nice 320estate at a not excessive £6500.

Last LED comes on after a week iirc. Basically dropping the charge voltage right down at that point and on full maintenance mode. 

I have found to restore batteries, it can be helpful to leave them charging at the lowest charge current. Most chargers it's around 0.8A and usually the motorbike battery setting.

That was all welded when I bought the car. He did the welding! Body is fine rust ways, it’s the suspension that’s collapsing.  Same as my last CX. 

Offering advice to people in these situations is never that well received.

I remember on one of the LR FB groups that an owner looked for advise on a suspension change and then deleted the post for the abuse he was rightly getting, I save the photo. Because this is not only a trolley jack supporting the nearside but a bottle jack lifting the body off the chassis
