I “may” have posted this before but worth it again if I have. Blame the wine.  Just took this pic recently in local village to me (Dublin). Slammed ‘73 Imp with my humble ‘90 (previously from this parish) in the background.
For the record, the Pug is now on 15” steelies with nice tyres and has had further suspension work to improve d’ride.. Still going like a bomb and may have some exhaust work soon.

OOOOF. I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again but I would dearly love an Imp/Chamois/Stiletto and those wheels are FIT. Want.

Look what I've found.

That's funny you should get that because I went to look at this yesterday.

At a deliberately unshite price, in fact about £500 more than I've seen any other Felicia for but as proper good ones are very rare now I thought I could at least make an offer. It's a pre face-lift GLXi too so it's quite a desirable spec (in Felicia licking circles anyway, not for the general public)

Dealer plates with matching rear window sticker.

It was really good but not £2.5k good. Still the best I've seen for a while but the front panel was bent under a headlight, there were a fair few stonechips and a small blister on one rear arch. It was very small but once they start you can't stop them. I've tried it on my own car, as soon as the blisters appear grind them out, add Kurust and paint but they always come back. The guy certainly seemed like a dealer but was affable even after I'd said it was too much. I said £2k was more realistic and he said he wasn't going to budge from £2.5 and said he'd rather keep it. I suspect he will have it for some time.

He had an interesting collection of cars. There was some modern stuff but the majority was 90s stuff. Here's a few random shots.

I'd say most of it was a bit overpriced, except the breadvan Polo's perhaps as they would have scene tax added elsewhere anyway, but they were all good tidy examples of their type, and they are all the type of thing that you can't just go and buy good ones of anymore so if you really want one they probably aren't overpriced. I kind've got the impression he's using the sales of newer cars to fund his habit for old chod and he doesn't really want to sell them.

If you see anything you fancy they are here:

I've seen (not physically on t'internet) four in the last year around £1500. At £1500 I would have bought the one above. Probably would have at £1750 but that would be my limit.

You can still get them for £300 but they look like £300 cars. But even then not very often anymore.

Out of interest how much would a really good Cinquecento or a mk1 Panda fetch these days? I know Felicias are a few years behind those but people are starting to realise how good they are.

Sorry.. HFM? I know we're all getting older and the cars rarer but that's a serious piss take surely?

Pandas, 2-3 grand. If we're talking 4x4 Sisleys, 5k+. But truthfully, they've been pretty much there for a few years now, really only crept up a few hundred on average over the last 18 months. They've pretty much stabilised.

Cinqs, really good ones, 2k give or take a few hundred. Pristine sportings, 2.5kish (they're often listed for more but don't sell for it).

Mine with full MOT will be going on the market for around that (i'd call it above average but given it's totally rust free, has had all the improtant stuff replaced for new, comes with spares, history totalling over 20k, and would cost about 3.5-4k to build one identical, is probably a touch under). They really kind of exploded in price about 18 months ago and have only kept going up steadily.

Felicia's just caught me totally off guard, it seems to have been overnight. The ones i saw, even when i was looking before i bought the Vectra were all 30-40k, service history, mostly elderly owned, often garaged examples and were still well under a grand (which is under what they should have been IMO, one of the last genuinely undervalued cars out there). I'd have no hesitation in paying 1200-1500 for a really, really good 'mint' one knowing they will probably stay there or creep up.  But i really though the days of them hitting the 2-2.5k market were still 7-8 years away.

As I said, talking to the guy I got the impression he didn't even want to sell it. Put a silly price on just in case somebody wants it that badly but otherwise just hang on to it. He's had it a long time already. Somebody on the Skoda FB page (which I'm not on so this is secondhand info) reckons he's had it for 20 months. I'd first noticed it about three months ago but I'm on holiday about ten miles away from it this week so thought I'd go and have a look.

The Favorits have moved into the classic section, saw somebody trying it it on at £4.5k a few weeks ago. It didn't sell obviously. But the Felicias are next which is weird as the facelift cars still look sort of modern. Ironicallyish the 1.3s seem to be more desirable in Skoda circles which I can see as it is the last true Skoda design. It had VW money in it but no design. I think the 1.6 is probably better for everyday use, especially if it's an SLXi like mine has leccy windows, passenger airbag, ABS, central locking and all you really need for everyday use.

But for me the ultimate is the Felicia Bohemia, a special edition towards the end of the mk1, mostly P regs. They were a 1.3 but with all the toys so best of both worlds. I'd pay £2.5k for one of those in the condition of the one I saw on Monday, but I wouldn't be using it every day, it would go in the garage.

Especially if it was Atlantic green.

But then I'm very much in the minority. I pinched that pic off the Internet, it's been on there for years so I doubt it looks like that any more if it exists at all. I've googled Felicia Bohemia many times and no new pics ever seem to come up.

EDIT: MOT expired July 2013.

Talking about overpriced chod, the other day I saw a 08 reg Suzuki Swift at a garage I was passing. They were asking over £3 grand for it! Three grand for a 12 year old supermini! Is the fucker made of gold or are they taking the piss?

Genuine vicar’s wife owner with 14k on the clock.

Passed the theory exam for the HIAB yesterday. Practical lessons and test today. I do have a slight advantage as I have held a ticket before, albeit 19 years ago and didn’t ever use it as the Truck was sold on within a month and not replaced.

Or, this is for sale at dealer near me. They've got it right at the front too where they normally have the Mercs and Audis. Screenshot_20201008_082735_com.android.chrome.thumb.jpg.7ab4f60c45ee29add2d1b6d1aef74437.jpg

Tried to fix my Focus yesterday, the bonnet was jammed shut and I'd run out of screenwash.  A bit of YouTube viewing showed me what to do.IMG_20201007_135333989.thumb.jpg.4cae7b437e9d905e25ad1e336c9bf518.jpg

First it was time to deploy chisels and violence.  Two plastic fastenings needed cutting off and a few more prising apart.

Next job was to remove the knackered mech with a hammer.

With that out of the way I followed another videos instructions to try and fit a MK4 Mondeo release mech to it but cocked something up and ran out of time.  Went to use it this morning and the battery light is on FFS.  Must have knocked a connection off somewhere.

Some is. Sadly the rest is where the top coat has been scraped off.

Just going to have to live with it.

Drag the offside rear door down a brick wall, that'll take your mind off it!

(the ex's black meriva got smacked years ago. I buffed the worse off then applied a black sharpie every 6 month or so over the paint cracks. That another polish and wax hides it fairly well!)
