Dolly progress! So last week I retrimed the parcel shelf as it was full of holes and fitted some rear belts.

I then changed all the under bonnet fuel pipes as they were perished and of them was even leaking.

After all that I got the transmission tunnel of to investigate this clutch problem...

What a mare, I decided that removing the gearbox was too much work for me so farmed the job out to a local mechanic I know, a friend was kind enough to deliver the car to the garage for me as he was passing.

And then the garage got the box out, found the fault, replaced it all and finished in a day!

It ended up being a snapped £9 cross shaft pin meaning the shaft was moving about so the fork wasn't working properly

Costed £300 to sort so I'm not complaining, collected it this morning and drove it for the first time, it's brilliant! It goes like a train and is great fun, it needs some more work, the timing is well out, carbs need balancing, and the interior needs putting back together again but for now I'm happy to have a working classic again!

Wasn't there one of those for sale on here a month or two back?

There was...it was an E50 model though rather than the E51 above.

That one is also 4wd which mine wasn’t but £10k does seem towards the higher end of the price range. Bloody nice looking thing though...

Just fixed a Honda civic that had starting problems and guy bought new  battery,  think its wrong as terminals are tiny he done them up thinking it was sorted then tonight he went to start it and was not eager to go, so without effort I was able to pull off the clamps without undoing them??‍♂️, and so undid them wrapped wire and tap on with a hammer and tighten up, nearly started but battery was low in charge, so quick jump start and he's away...he'll let me know if starts again..lol

Yes. Originally sold by @colc to @NorthernMonkey to @Robson3022

Think it was a 2001 around the £1200 figure. A bit older but a lot cheaper.

All mine now muhahaha

I think it’s worth a lump more than I paid. Going to use it as a bit of a camper over the summer then do some bits of tidying. Paint bumpers etc.

Looks like it was an HST that derailed.  Must have been quite a landslide to knock one of those over as they are heavy bastards.

Yes, from what's been reported it left Stonehaven at 0650ish, came across a blockage, then ran wrong road before crossing back to the down line, so it had already passed the scene of the accident earlier on. Apparently the first report was at 0945, from the surviving crew member who ran to the nearest signalbox; must have been pretty elongated whatever was happening. Must have been very unpleasant for all concerned.

Dedra and tempra same car really, along with tipo, fiat coupe, alfa 155, 145, 146, gtv,spider,90s delta,. I tried offering it free, no body was interested, and that was before the roof damage.

Is the Dedra so undesirable? I remember it as the last RHD model Lancia built.

Some of the modern batteries for Japanese cars have smaller terminals. You can buy metal sleeves to adapt them to the older-style larger clamps. Just search for "Japanese Car Battery Terminal Post Adaptors".

I went down to Dorchester to visit a mate a couple of days ago and decided to go to Weymouth for a Rossi's

ice cream, large, because they make it every day and it's seriously lush. Real fruit in the flavours. Mango,

Raspberry, Strawberry, Fruits of the forest, Lemon, etc,. I'm salivating just typing this.

A pic of the beach at 11 ish. Room enough to socially distance at that time but a large steady horde clogging

the street from the car parks. Second pic, not v/good, of the bay showing the cruise ship parking zone.

Standard fucked Transit seen dumped at the side of the road outside work this morning. My first thought on clocking it was 'catastrophic suspension failure'

Been a bit clumsy with the car the last couple of weeks: managed to get the passenger door pretty dented, dog hit the inside like a rhino trying to get out in record time and the door hit a post... and just now, driving to the same bloody park, some twat has been cutting down trees on the roadside and a bloody great branch fell and hit the car as I passed. Sod it.

Sounded like I'd taken the side of the car off but couldn't see anything but when I got home saw a scrape on the front wing, Not too bad, could have been worse (insert other platitudes here).

oil and filter change on the Volvo v50 today - also an air filter, plus the satisfaction of turning off the "Service Due" message on the display.

Also checked the fuse for the aircon as the button does nothing - i would expect the revs to dip when i turn it on but it stays as is and air does not get cold.

Any suggestions where to start on debuging that one?

Take it for a regas, it's probably that, most places do a no fix no fee service.

I purchased a new battery for my power tank that powers my telescope. The old one showed less than half a volt - RIP. I got one from toolstation.

It was a bit of a faff to clip it back together but it works now - I will take the scope to our van in North Wales where the skies are clearer.

Check your relay to engage the clutch of the Aircon compressor and the fuse before you go down the "it just needs a quick regass m8" route.
