Looked out of my workshop window at about 8am to see a couple of coppers with what I thought was a speed trap, but what turned out to be a stinger.

One thumbs-up the other (hiding behind a tree) and slung it under a passing pikey van, and unfortunately also under a passing builders transit.

The pikey was arrested, and the builders moped around moaning about their 4 fresh punctures the repair/towing of which the police took about 3 hours to arrange.

Quite exciting!

That's a shame. I always liked seeing that around Ipswich. I doubt it will happen, but it would be nice if he was able to carry on with it.

Such a good feeling when it's a good sting! Cake fine though for the innocent transit

I made a gate to keep a horse where it should be. Designed specifically for this one (Olly)

Just renewed insurance on the shalaxy with hastings direct fully competitive, 2 years NBC, for me and missus £424, we not co inhabiting yet and shes 11 years my junior.. didnt price was too bad..considering year AA wanted 1k..

You did well to get hold of polycarbonate sheet at this time.  Covid-panicced retail has bought most of it for germ-screens.

My neighbor has been puttering up and down the street in his Model A. It's gone back to firing on 3 under load so it's got a duff plug most likely. He has a few spares so that's good. 

Apparently the washer for the condenser goes on the other side of the screw- I couldn't get it to fit like that but eh. It disintegrated and shorted the ignition out and brought the car to a halt. He fixed that and took it out for a spin then the ammeter caught fire.

Now the voltage regulator isn't (probably why the ammeter went pop) so that needs looking at.

Fun times. I'm glad he's happy to take it back out and about again though.

I have not, no. The A is a massive leap in terms of engineering and operation compared to the T, also.

Today we have been to Whitby for a run out,cos its hot,and we haven't been anywhere in months, and also cos its an excuse to go and have a drive in Rodney Mini.

Sat by the market place in the old town, who do we see, but a couple of fellas we used to work with, but have not seen in months.Even before we were all under house arrest. Which was nice. Glad to see that they are all ok.
Also the council have decided to do "one way"over the swing bridge. which is a pretty good idea,shame then that loads of idiot tourists were just ignoring it. Plus i don't ever think i've seen the tide so far out in the harbour.

Still we did see that quite a lot of the shops were still closed, which is i think not such a bad thing. Even if it means that i cannot go and buy some more second hand toy cars from Alan,so not all bad!! Well that is what my wallet was thinking anyway.
We then went down the road to Scarborough, and kinda wished we had not. the place was heaving, just like a bank holiday weekend, though it seems that the sea front was exactly the same here at home.
Still nice to get out of the house for a while, and see Kenny and co. and get to drive that little car some more!

^ he would have nothing on Dusty the Donkey and Noddy, they were forever escaping from their paddock or stable when i was small.

there was a nursery in town run by Mrs Saint-Vaughn, who had a donkey (Dusty) and large white goat (Noddy) 

Noddy was considered to be the instigator of most of their shenanigans. which usually was helping themselves to plants out of peoples gardens or allotments after making it out of the grounds.

there were many occasions where they escaped, and took themselves off for a walk. All on their own.

Sometimes neighbours would catch them and take them home, sometimes it was the local constabulary.

We used  to think that was very funny, since their home was just a couple of  doors up from the infants school!

We have had a few of those, Nick the pony would untie his rope and then go around the yard to untie the others, if his bottom bolt wasn't done up would let himself out of the stable,  usually to be found in the hay shed. I can't remember if it was him or one of the others who mangled a combination padlock that had been put on the top bolt to stop him undoing it. Blossom the Welsh Mountain pony preferred to let herself in and if she could, would open the field gate and her stable door to come in if it rained, she was also desperate to get in the kitchen and let herself in there a few times.

Just found out that the latest issue of the Polish Classic Auto magazine contains a big feature on the Polonez Caro. It's causing quite a bit of upset on FB with people calling the car 'not a classic'.

Really looking forward to getting my hands on a copy.

Over the last couple of evenings I have been attempting, almost entirely unsuccessfully, to sort the remaining issues on the 75.  I took the nearside headlight out with the intention of disconnecting the headlight self-levelling motor - this works very intermittently, and when it decides not to work the headlight ends up pointing about 3' in front of the car, which isn't a lot of use.  So the idea was to disconnect the motor and then wind the headlight up to the correct height using the manual adjuster.  Except that the manual adjuster fell to bits, which left the reflector flapping around inside the light unit.  So it's now held in place with a spring clip, but I'm going to have to buy another headlight, which is annoying.

Whilst clearing out the shed a couple of weeks ago I found my old clip-together fan belt.  It occurred to me that I could use this as a test belt to see if I could get the aircon working - it would only be a temporary solution as it's a V-belt and the pulleys are designed for a ribbed belt, but I thought it'd stay in place long enough to test the system.  Which it did, although it was a bit of a faff to get in place as access is quite tight.  The aircon still doesn't work though - the compressor clutch wouldn't engage.  It's not the switch as the radiator fan comes on as it should when the switch is pressed.  There appears to be gas in the system as it hissed when I pressed the valve in with a screwdriver.  So I think the compressor might have had its day, which is annoying as I was hoping it'd just be a case of replacing the belt to get the a/c working again.

The next job was to investigate the trailer electrics to see why they worked fine with my trailer board (which has LED bulbs fitted) but wouldn't work properly with standard trailer lights.  I suspected a dodgy earth, but the earth connection looked fine.  So I swapped the bulbs in the trailer board for normal ones and plugged it in to test, but now the trailer lights don't work at all.  Even with the LED bulbs back in there wasn't even a flicker.  So now I'm going to have to rip out the boot floor at the weekend and do a full investigation - I'm wondering whether it's either the live feed which has come apart or even the 7-way relay itself which has packed up.  At least I have the Mondeo for now if I do need to tow anything.
