With plenty of time on my hands I thought I'd change the rear grumbling wheel bearing on her Focus. Did it about 3 years ago-shagged again (Chinesium?).

Putting one of these on.

Do you think I can get the four bolts holding the hub on undone-can I f***. Didn't think I did them up that tight. Next plan of action is to buy a new back plate and grind the fucking lot off.

You can see two of the little bastards poking through-access to them is interesting! Back plate shagged anyway.

Partial success: went outside for the time in what seems like absolutely ages and stuck a 'Powered by veg oil' sticker that my daughter made me on my car. Opened Lada boot, moved stuff around, took photographs. Back inside now.

Show us the mess ?

That was the mess...

I sorted it out to this...

Yeah still looks shit. Was only meant to be a stop gap as the camper is in the way where it is currently and I can’t get hold of the sub base which I was going to whack over the area. The ground there is really uneven and o just placed the slabs hence the wonkyness...

Of course the only thing worse than it looking utter shite... is the fact that it was impossible to get the van on! There wasn’t enough room to turn the van into the space! FFS...

So now the van is on slabs on the grass. (Not ideal)

Should of stared at it for longer, with beer in hand of course!

Turning circle of a supertanker doesn't help.

Keep up the good work ?

*SHOCK NEWS**HOLD THE PRESS*

H. IMP DOES ACTUAL CAR WORK.

I know, mental, yeah! People probably forget I used to sometimes do stuff to my cars (quite often wrongly as people on these pages often pointed out) and I'm not just here to shitpost.

The 944 has had rusty wings since before I got it. Obviously it was going to be the first thing I did when I got the car.

So here we are 15 months later and they're still not done.

If anyone remembers I have tried to buy proper repair panels but they were fucking shite so I sent them back.

So today I decided to try and sort one of the shitty wings. Didn't start well with me breaking the side repeater trying to get to the bolts down the door frame.

However after an hour or so the wing was off.

Helpfully the awkward one to get to next to the light wasn't there. Reckon thats a bumper off job so hell, thats fine with me.

Sadly things didn't get better after breaking the indicator. The wing was pretty rotten. This is how much I had to cut out.

IMG_20200405_145620.thumb.jpg.8ecb29d0ad1950bf61856b1a361cb57c.jpg

Was at it for a few hours, including beer breaks.

Until this happened.

Will try and sort it tomorrow but probably need a new liner. It had been a little temperamental for a few minutes before but went full on bollocked in no time, so I may be able to blag it for a bit. I've no idea if Machine Mart are open, I'll check in the morning unless anyone else knows? Sure theres an emergency plastic liner somewhere in the garage though, will look.

It was already getting late though so I sacked it off for the day.

Wing currently looks like this. Its a well fucking awkward bit of metal. Lots of curves and angles.

I reckon the chances of it being the right size afterwards are pretty much zero. I was constantly measuring the wing on the other side but its equally as fucked so I was guessing where the end of what I was measuring was. Hopefully it will be close enough though.

It can be metal and filler, thats fine. Will probably still be better than the £230 or whatever it was I'd paid for those other repair panels.

My 1989 2.7 had been bodged there but I'm pleased to see your ABS pump looks healthier than mine did. Alloy ABS inside wheel arch? Hmm....

Today’s the day I shall brave the shops... it’s been a week since the last foray and that was only for a few bits... so a proper shop is needed. Only really important question is...

Saab convertible or C5  Tourer?

If it was taxed I would be using the 2CV hands down.

I bought a set of these a month or so back.  They're not bad, as cheapo plastic trims go - they don't look nearly as offensive as some offerings.

Have you got any pictures of them out of the box please , seeing as the seller couldn't manage it ?

My eldest lad's Peugeot 207 was showing signs of coolant use, even though the head gasket was replaced at the last major repair (engine & 'box out for Clutch / Head Gasket / Timing Belt job).

The thermostat housing at end of the cylinder head was leaking coolant from the front edge, so I stripped, cleaned and resealed it yesterday afternoon. These seem to leak for fun and there is no physical gasket, I used an RTV Silicon that I had with the Polo timing chain kit, worked well though but I don't think Peugeot were particularly liberal with the amount they used.

Job bobbed.
