Income tax is required at any age.  NI STARTS AT 16.

IF HE MAKES 12500 quid profit, he needs to pay tax.

No idea how much he makes, but all the articles he's linked to have the headline of making loads of money... I was very careful to not mention money at all in my 23 seconds of fame.

The Clio exhaust hanger really needs the Backbox off and the car in the air so I can build things to bolt too.

Have it bodged so it doesn't rattle.
Engine sounds much happier after an oil change and shiny new purflux filter.

No a bad day skiddling on corrs, but it's cold damp and dark now, so game over for today

Am I doing this right? I joined the forum 10 days ago and have enjoyed reading your tales of trials, tribulations and occasional triumphs and resolved to get some shite in my life. So today I paid £300 for an 18 year old Alfa - what could possibly go wrong?

I had the pleasure of Loserone this afternoon for a spot of light limecrete slab mixing/laying in our old house in Upper Weardale. Some old house experience/skill swapping about to take place.
As an Autoshite link, here’s Loserone having to push-assist my shonky old Belle Maxi mixer that makes dodgy noises and has a slipping belt:

Out and about. I need to bodge some repairs over the next few days because the water ingress has increased, and the mould has become rampant.

Gonna stick it inside for a while with a heater and a dehumidifier to begin with, and add some sealant around leaky seals.

I wiped the mould of mine with vinagre, then set to work running the engine just in the drive and having the blowers on full and the windows cracked.

Didn't dry out in one go but it got significantly better, now I've added a hanging dessicant and that is collecting quite a lot of the moisture too. Should be dry soon.

Ah yes.  The heater.  That doesn't work.  I imagine old Leroy who had the car before us had dabbled in the forbidden moonshine (K Seal) as it's never bloody worked.  I have a new matrix to fit but value having my fingers, so I'm going to flush the system out first before giving the job to someone else if that doesn't work!

The Sierra's in the garage now and was treated to about 5 hours of a 2kw heater.  It was hotter than the sun in there last night - lovely stuff.  More mould wiping to happen (got some special jollop from the shops) and I've ordered some black sealant from Amazon which is coming today!

So.. A conundrum.. Do I spend seven or eight hundred putting right all that's wrong with the 740 or try a cheeky bid on an apparently nice local 940 turbo for a little more? Genuine question, I can't make a decision

Sometimes its better the devil you know. Chances are although you'll be buying that car it may also need some spending on it as well.

I really want to get rid of my fezzy for a 5 door, its not used a massive amount apart from going work and back but when I do need to take the family out its just a right ball ache getting them in an out.

I just can't let it go though and replace with another shitter as I've spent a bit on it over the last 18 months (matching tyres, rear shockers, front calipers, discs and pads to name a few things). I can guarantee anything I replace it with will need work doing, I'd expect nothing less at the low end price point so to me its just not worth the hassle yet until MOT time comes in June.

Speedo doesn't work but hey other than that it's a cracker. Bland as bland can be and that front end is a bit erm but it has a certain charm.

The mum of my first ever girlfriend when I was in school had one of these... it was M Reg and white.

Quick update on the fleet:

Mini: After the oil change to a slightly heavier 5/w40 the smoke from the valve stems still didnt come back however it has now strangely returned. Not a new problem though, oil usage is as patchy as before and it continues to car well.

Clio: Usual problems trying to sell it. Despite stating in the advert clearly 'No swaps' and that I would ignore lessages of less than 10 words, I received both. I have been offered a MK4 Escort Cabriolet project and £200 and a barried Seat Leon Cupra (whatever that model is), £950 and a not unpalatable offer of £1200 however that was all the message said. Some messers seem interested at first but when the reality of my address and a time to view hits them, they go silent. One guy is coming tonight who lives nearby so perhaps he will show.

Audi: The Mann filter with an anti drainback valve and lighter grade oil didn't help the chain rattle on start up. Fiction there from the Audi pages then! I have conceded that as it is not a critical internal part of of the engine and it is otherwise quiet in operation, I'll keep an ear on it and leage it alone for the time being. Ultimatley a new chain and tensioner will be fitted but not necessary this year.

Corsa: Continues to slumber but still MOT'd and ship-shape.

If/when the Clio sells, I fancy a 4x4 type of thing, a phase 1 Merc ML 270 is high on my list.

Took the Laguna to Wiltshire and back this weekend, it's such a lovely steer.

Been taking the MX5 to work the last few days and I'm noticing I'm spending a LOT more time sideways than I'd like. Anything to do with the road being salted?

Either way, the entire fleet need a wash.

Close, same year and colour, mine's had more owners (last change in 2015) done more miles and it has a roof spoiler.. I paid a little more for it too.
