Supposed to be going to MITCAR in Coventry on Sunday, but @richbraith's Tipo isn't going to be ready. Anybody got anything Italian we can borrow for the trip? Unfortunately I don't think our other option will successfully get us through the gate :(

3 Alfas and they are all broken or you would be welcome to borrow one.

Last night I bought a 'private plate' from the DVLA. It is for my son (it's his birthday soon) and is his initials and I thought, quite good (Y10 KLT).....

A plate that sounds like that awful "healthy bacteria" ( but is actually just liquidised sugar) drink Yakult.

So you won't be needing that Puch, then?

Not needing, no. But if it's cheap(ish) I'd still quite like it :)

BBC news. 'Man fined after driving a car with another car on it's roof'.

Check out the short vid. What's the problem, looks fine to me.

Looks like my last Cortina could have been a perpetual motion machine, with a little bit of tinkering.

That's science, that is.

After my Shitefest 2016 success with A-Framing my Cortina with a Lada Samara, I feel the bar has been set to a new height looking at this article. I need to have a plan for Shitefest 2020....

Sounds good though - like thunder.

£2.5 million apparently.

A mere bagatelle to a young Gulf Arab. No doubt it's been brought here for "The Season", i.e. driving in a cavalier manner around Kensington & Chelsea to the delight* of local residents and the local Council......

I remember one year that a Lamborghini (think it was either red or orange) was seized, either by the Met, or by RBK&C, for some offence. It was never reclaimed, and was auctioned off. The owner merely went and ordered a replacement....

Bugatti Pacman?

Just after this, I was a little busy so no pic, , but did see a silver birch ( what else!) Aston Martin db5, RHD with GB badge but on Swedish? ( S on the plate anyway) number plates. Now that’s what a two million pound car should look like.

A number of weeks ago, @chatsharris, @richbraith and I were having a group chat on Facebook which determined that Chats would be in our neck of the woods at the end of August for his mates stag do.

After much arm twisting* we convinced Chats to come up a day early...i would put him up at mine and Rich would leave the beloved Mrs B for a night to drink beer and also stay over.

So tonight, there are 3 shiters in my house and how nice to socialise away from cars etc and also minimal car talk (aside from us all nearly buying a Fiat Punto - see My earlier post, unfortunately the rear outer sill came away in my hand!). A thoroughly great night and testament to this forum that great friendships can result and common interests outside of our car hobby can be found.

The 4th chap is a mate of mine and Rich'S.... A mechanic who owns a garage called Retro Performance. I think that summarises why we all got on.

Spent the day meeting Autoshiters yesterday, which allowed this epic scene to occur.

IMG_20190829_140426.thumb.jpg.f2938b7b50f3115fd590b50198ebdfcd.jpg

I borrowed Six Cylinder's BMW for a spot of wafty indulgence, and visited Mr Schwifty for hot Peugeot action. The Mk5 Escort was just the icing on the cake, and makes me realise how long it has been since I even saw one!

What a bloody lovely day. Now back in Wales, still with the BMW, which I like for many reasons, but dislike for the uncomfortable seats and tired wiper blades. May treat it to a new set.

I was browsing Saab 900 convertibles for sale when I saw this...

Which looks lovely, and may seem unremarkable at first until you look at one of my 9000s number plates...

Now need to resist some serious temptation!
Do it! That would be so cool to reunite them..

I like the white plastic pig, can't afford it (I don't suppose?) but if I could/can, then will/woud :)

Proper 'what a wanker!' moment today: was getting grumpy 'cos the air con still doesn't work properly, lots of fan action but the wind blown through the vents is no colder than ambient.  Then read the effin' handbook and it was a lightbulb moment,  a switch was in the wrong place! Press switch and ice cold air is blasting all over me.

But I LIKE little red lights!

I suspect you have already mentally spent the money....

Which is cheaper and quicker, putting the 9000CS back on the road? Or buying the convertible to park next to the CS?

The 9000 CS is very much on the road... as my wife and I work at the same place we could park next to each other,l. Probably cheaper than two personalised plates.
