trigger
I leave in the morning so hopefully will see you over the weekend! We had our East Coast Retros meet this evening along with Practical Classics magazine, my god, what a turn out! We ended up with 390 cars in the end! Amazing for a little pub in a small Suffolk village! I didn't get to take many photos but we had cake which went down well with the PC team. A Mazda Cosmos. wuvvum
This evening I have mostly been driving Marinas. Took the MX5 down to Trig's Shotley meet (as above), the Practical Classics lot had already gone by the time I got there (I passed Sam Glover in his Wartburg on the way up) but the Marina Owners Club were there until the bitter end. Had a go in Trig's Ital van, a lovely early 1300DL and a rather rorty 1.8TC, all thoroughly enjoyable and surprisingly different from each other considering they're basically the same car. Other higlights of the evening included Mrs Trig drifting the blue Marina Estate around the field, and some hot Peugeot 604 wiper action (one for Wobbler if he's about). Oh, and Bornite, your recovery bloke turned up at about 10:15... Split_Pin, Brodders, egg and 5 others

wuvvum
I took quite a few photos, not got time to post them all now but thought wor Billy might enjoy this lineup of '80s / early '90s Vauxhalls (with interloping TVR). egg, Tenmil Socket, Brodders and 4 others

I was surprised at how sideways it could end up going (or backwards in the hands of Carl). Overall a great evening. I still can't believe the AA turned up about three hours too late for Bornite Identity though. When the guy came over I thought we were about to be thrown out for powersliding Marinas and Vauxhalls. Edit: also cheers for the goes in the Marinas, Ital and MX5 wuvvum and trigger

trigger
What did Bornite break down in? The Moog
Please explain... this sounds interesting for mine too... Mazda was quite conservative as the mx5 was designed to run on worse fuel quality than the UK has. Therefore you can change the timing which gives the engine more pep - just need a timing light (on my to buy list) https://www.mx5nutz.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=122153 Ghosty, brownnova and chaseracer 2

Wot Trig said. He came down in the Mini - nearside front tyre was almost down to the canvas after 400 miles, and offside wasn't far behind. egg and trigger
Jerzy Woking
Bloody hell-i was in Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich yesterday afternoon and evening. Had I seen the posts about the show in Shotley, I'd have dropped by. Would still have been 309 cars, as I was on my Moto Guzzi
cms206
For the first time since I turned sixteen, I am actually unemployed. Without work. Nada. Zilch. I should probably start looking for work at some point. In other news, the aforementioned situation meant that this happened this morning, 7.30am test... There were various things towards the end, but ultimately I needed this Saturday off to watch CMS_JNR as WIFE_CMS had stuff on. It was refused point blank with four weeks notice. As a result, after ten years in the place and four and a half years more or less running it I told them to ram it. busmansholiday, Skizzer, loserone and 19 others

SiC
Just paid for extra car storage. First spot available on Monday with the next at the beginning of August. Yes, I've started looking already! Thinking it will be a Dolly Sprint/GT6 (or Spitfire with GT6 engine)/Sprite (ideally as prefer over Midget). No massive rush as coming to end of season too when the bargains start coming up around end of August/September HillmanImp, mrbenn, The Moog and 1 other
Split_Pin
Currently awaiting the MOT results of the 172. I dropped it off first thing and they haven't tested it yet which is unusual for a car which is 'new' to them. Normally they test it first thing so any issues can be fixed that day. skattrd
P38 (BMW diesel automatic) made it to the garage this morning. It overheated three times in the 20 miles and by the time I got there it had blown a rad hose. I did try running it with the rad cap loose, but it spaffed the coolant extra quick when I did this, so I tightened the cap and blew a hose instead..... It had a replacement engine, new rad, and water pump shortly before I bought it, so I don't think its not the first time it's done this. Discussion with mechanic ensued, rad hoses ordered, those will be fitted and then diagnosis can proceed.... Current suspects, dodgy rad or HGF, but it's a Range Rover, so it could be anything. I did notice that nothing was connected at the bottom of the rad. I thought the rad on these included an ATF cooler, and there should be pipes from the box to the rad. Time to hit forums and see what the setup should be for gearbox cooler. E36 tds was collected, which has the same engine as the P38, but with 130k miles more on it, so they can be reliable, just maybe not in a Range Rover. It's nice to have the BMW back.
