Good job it was an Ikea as it didn't quite fit in the 620 much to my embarrassment. Cue fumbling around in the pissing rain for an allen key. Which, naturally, were all at home. Luckily seller had one. Ultimately, all my old vinyl collection of albums and 12 inch whoppers will slide into the eight cubes therein quite nicely - easily hold 50 or more per cube. For now it's re-erected and currently hosting random tat in the living room. Oh... That's the plan to get the records in there any time soon thwarted. Squatters' rights and all that bollox... trigger
Lifes been a bit busy lately, back in the beginning of November we agreed to buy a new home just outside of town, the house we were in wasn't in the best area, we had a pot head next door, my car was stolen of the drive a couple of years back and the school's don't have a good reputation so we decided to bite the bullet and up our mortgage. A couple of weeks ago we eventually moved in after a lot of stress and worry! I've never had anything so posh! Unfortunately we are on the old A12 but you can't have everything and it's great for car spotting! On Saturday I managed to even dig the Marina out of its hibernation and get it back to the new house. Hopefully next week I'll even be able to get the van back too. The next day I took it to the Aldham Rally in Colchester, I've been going to this for years and there's always something of interest that I haven't seen before. Namely this Maestro Van, it is the very one which was stolen last year and used in a ram raid, still looks good though apart from the plastic plates! i quite fancied this Minor for Mrs Trigger (the van will probably be going at some point as I never use it), paint work was a bit ropey, seats different colours and generally just needed a bit of love, I later saw the owner, expecting the price to be around £1500 - 2000 and nearly had a stroke when he said £4400! I'm so out of touch with MM prices! brownnova, GrumpyCat, egg and 19 others 21

trigger
A few more from the show. I rather liked this Fiesta. Wide wheels Even wider wheels (which looked shit in my opinion) This Transit was amazing, it's literally been painted with a brush and was just covered in runs and brush strokes, but the filler over the rust repairs were remarkable. Then I took it in the ring in front of everyone. Even my dad took his in the ring too. mrbenn, danthecapriman, Bucketeer and 21 others 23

shoddybanger
I spotted an ad where someone is emptying an old unit and selling off a couple of old Skoda 120L's, a Skoda 105L and a Citroen Dyane here in Finland. https://www.tori.fi/pohjois-karjala/Skoda_120L_58189024.htm?ca=18&w=3 I don't recall when I last saw an old Skoda 120 on the streets. Any way new pump is on, new timing belt is on and i have to finish putting the rest of it back together again and we see where we are. stuboy, djim and scdan4

LightBulbFun
small update on the radio, hooked it up to the variac with a dimbulb tester (aka a 100W Lightbulb in serise with the radio as a current limiter) and not a sausage sadly, so I suspect the switch must of copped it when the mains RF cap failed short (and someone probably shat themselves when it went BANG ) so ill now I REALLY have to figure out how to remove the chassis from the cabinate at some point, but for now ill just button it back up and put it away for another rainy day or something I had feared something was up with the switch, especially as when I probed it for continuity with my DMM I did not get any change on both positions I only went up to 40V on the variac, but being this is a valve radio, the 100W Lightbulb would be glowing at that voltage as the valve filaments would be conducting I didn't go any higher then about 40V as I didn't want to cause anything to flash over since it was clear something was open circuit (edit: whoops this was meant as a response for the what makes you grin thread, ah well it fits in here too! LOL)

Will send PM once I've worked out what info DVLA need from you - quick research revealed that if I pass to you, you need to nominate a car and reg will transfer immediately. Online service only available 7am to 7pm, so cannot check if the same thing happens and you get provided with a certificate enabling you to get new reg plates made up.
