I’m also shattered. I’ve been at my sisters from Boxing Day morning making Lego with my neices, i was pressganged into it! Then we went for a walk in besselsleigh woods ( not an inspector morse title, but close) and both 6 and 10 wanted to paddle in their wellies. Water too deep for aged 6’s wellies though, cue grump and tears. I won the Lego competition though ( my throne room of the vengeful owl god was judged best, if only because my brother in law thought it a lot safer if he didn’t decide between his girls.

Mercedes was brilliant up to oxford and home though, despite the idiots on the road. Now i have a break, going to work, before I visit my parents in north wales for New Years.

Spent 20 mins on the phone with Carole Nash for them to remove £4 from a renewal cost of £186 for the Oxford.

What a bag of shite..

Anyone any suggestions re potential insurers? was going to try footman James / Peter James etc..

I know some folk also have "multi car" classic policies (skattrd and dollywobbler spring to mind?) - who are they with?

Cheers

Peter S Taylor have been great with mine and I've got the XJ8, my e28 bmw and more recently had my Rover 820 on a multicar with them.

Only one they wouldn't touch was my Rover 75 as it was too new. Had to go to Peter Best to get that covered on a classic policy.

I'm paying £155 for the XJ8 and about £95 per year for the bmw.

Have heard though (Dollywobbler mentioned it) that they are now only covering cars valued over £1500. Yours shouldn't be a problem.

RH have been good for us, no problems with mods etc and the price has stayed reasonable.

I've had a multi-car policy with RH for over 20 years, there's no cost to remove/add cars either. Their "landline" number is 01277 206911 to avoid premium call costs

Been spending much of the break searching for a car or van for me to use and enjoy in the new year,I have found nothing I want or like.I know this time of year is usually barren, but even still. Things I like or would be useful are: Reliant(obviously) A35,Minor,Trabant etc, nothing.Unless I want an A30 for £7k from a stealer I'm shit out of luck.Hasnt done my mojo any good either, getting to the point where I just can't be bothered and will just battle on riding my MZ.

i can't find it now, but there was a thread with three three-wheelers & parts for £700 recently. It looked ideal for you.

My poogate saga is ongoing, I’ve had to call ‘a man’ to come and unblock it as my rod isn’t long enough. He’s going to be here at 10 apparently. I’m trying to hold my morning poo in.

Meh. If you’re being forced to pay, then let him earn his money. If it were me I’d be unleashing the fires of hell moments before his arrival. Then sit there with a smirk on my face as he’s elbows deep in it.

Then again, I’m a bastard like that.

A long run in the 405 stopping here led me to.

post-4555-0-21336600-1546074942_thumb.jpg

Followed by a drive up to Durham.

It all went well considering that a mile from where I left Eddy the car spat off its aux belt it was a little worrying. Fortunately I'd packed my little socket set and my son had his model making knife to tidy up the frayed belt so I was able to fix it at a petrol station. The trailer tows nicely, just a bit of clattering from the hitch on braking.

Time to order aux belt #4 and a new tensioner.

Bit late now but the drain acid that comes in 1 litre containers and dissolves everything on contact is excellent, if you can get to the upstream side of the blockage and it's not spilling out of the manhole cover I would tip 5 bottles in and leave it for a few hours

Did you get that bit of advice off John Haigh?

Does it dissolve cement?

All fixed, looks like a piece of our drain ‘lining’ if you like cracked off, fell in, travelled two houses down and got stuck.. we’r the last house so noticed it first.

See the missing part...

£65 later ‘the man’ has cleared it and jetted all my drains. Nice old chap. Proper chod Fiat van that had been rollered royal blue about 10 years ago and was mostly white again now. Support small businesses y0.

I’m going for a poo.

I'm surprised that you had to pay for it to be unblocked - that looks like a communal sewer for more than one property, hence it's the local water authority that's responsible for that and a call-out from them is covered by your bills.
