davocano
Gone But Not Forgotten #3 It was sat in this position from the year 2000 I guess; that's when the licence expired anyway. Pictured here in 2012. In 2014 the number plate had vanished, thus revealing the V A U X H A L L badging. I went back there in 2016 but it was gorn. Dead yet still alive? I do hope so. davocano
So I'm into October now; the nights are drawing in and that lack of light results in ever narrowing windows of opportunity for taking photos that won't be an out of focus mess. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to be out and about quite often during this period of First World Spotter Problems. A 1960s caravan. I wonder what chod delights have dragged this around over the last 50 years. A Japanese Fiesta. I quite like the look of these. Are they any good from a 'shiters perspective? [/rhetorical] I'd love to know the back story of the question mark. "Why do I keep this thing?" (owner) "Why won't you get rid of this thing?" (owner's missus) Your Rootes are showing ho ho ho Someone likes old British tut; his next door neighbour likes less old German tut. mercrocker, uk_senator, vulgalour and 4 others
davocano
Burglar proof Audi. TWOC proof Saab. Unless TWOC-er haz chainsaw. Abandoned rubber MGB. Yeah, I've got a thing about Corollas. Check out those cart springs. Phwooarr A lovely limited edition Fiesta like they was in 1988. davocano
The Brooklands Motor Company specialises in restoring megabuck classic cars. They move these cars to and from their workshops on AS-appropriate beavertails. I'm no expert on old buses and coaches but I do enjoy seeing them. I'm informed that this one will be restored and converted into a race car transporter. More public transportation related. A pre-war Fordson tractor that was converted by London Transport and used to push trams around the depot. It's that Sierra/Astra combo again, this time from a slightly different perspective. Orange. davocano
Got to admit that I have desire to own a Japanese V8 barge one day. Got to admit that I also have desire to own a German inline-6 barge one day. Actually, I just like big barges. Abandoned W123. I haf desire etc. I quite like these too. And these. I borrowed one for a couple of days in 1994 and the engine was a revelation to me; I owned a 1.6 Mk4 Cortina at the time. The aforementioned Rover was returned to it's owner in the same condition as when it was entrusted to me. uk_senator, vulgalour, danthecapriman and 6 others
davocano
A politically volatile spot. I'm fairly certain* that this is a Trabant. 2.8 Sierra Ghia 4x4 estate; oh baby. davocano
Always nice to see a pre-facelift and I've noticed that Cavaliers in general are getting very thin on the ground 'round my way lately. Want; any good etc. Looks so much better without the bullbar. "BARN FIND" GSi 2.8 Injection fitted with autobox. Beige Dolly; the owner told me that he loves it and commutes many miles daily in it. davocano
Super Minx like they was in 1978. Don't particularly want; any good etc. Autumn Classic Breakfast. Mk2 with Mk1 front end. davocano
Not-Scene Type 2 wearing authentic years. Factory hightop FTW. davocano
Last one for October; R5 in subjectively remarkable condition. And so the November installment begins with a split-screen Minor. A recently imported Mustang parked on the correct* side of the street. In the City there's a thousand things I want to say to you. The Coupé is nice but I'd much rather have a Saloon thank you. The Hatchback is nice but I'd much rather have a Coupé thank you. leanycan
Absolutely love this thread and your fascination for Toyota Corolla's. davocano
^ Mmmm... Micra K11...; I have a hankering for one of them too. Pre-facelift. By the way, a shout out to the Mods and Staff. I am honoured that this thread was deemed fit enough to appear in the "Thread of the Year" poll and I'm quite proud of the fact that it has received the least amount of votes so far. I R Shite! Dollywobbler's Invacars is gonna win though, surely? That got my vote. So where were we? Oh yeah, November. Ghia flavoured Escort. Italian breadvan. W126 with replacement front wings; do not paint. Another orange German of the '70s. A yard at the back of a junk shop, sadly not open when I passed by. I wonder what treasures might be lurking in those garages... Coprolalia, danthecapriman, vulgalour and 9 others
davocano
Military Vehicles Day; a feast of olive drabness all around. I spotted this amongst the trucks, jeeps and gun platforms; my eyeballs were literally* dragged out of their sockets and my ass followed them into it's vicinity. Auction 'shite, this time at Mercedes-Benz World. A Very Corporate Establishment but well worth a visit if you're in the vicinity. A variety of old Mercs are always on display and they do rotate and replace many of them quite regularly. Entrance price of £0.00 is also nice. Jaaaaags Seen this a few times over recent years and it was always for sale; it sold. Owner possibly said W00T! Multipla with little in the way of interior fittings. Want a W123 saloon that can be converted into a soft-top estate? No? Well someone did. On the plus side, it has 4-speed column-change manual and bench seat. As a young man I despised French cars for utterly bogus reasons. What's not to like about an ID21 Safari with venetian blinds? Why are we cursed with ignorance in our youth yet blessed with seemingly limitless energy and enthusiasm (and if lucky, wads of spare cash) but when we get older, it's all the complete opposite. davocano
Back out on the streets for November's final installment; a Sapphire shedding it's coachlines. German breadvan. Nova in the autumn of it's years, currently employed as a bird lavatory. Now THAT is aspirational. A very well presented Astra; an HC Viva lurks under that tarp. Beige Toledo. This has been sitting for years; the hedge is inexorably consuming it. Brodders, Skizzer, Laseraligningfoofooflanges and 11 others
davocano
We begin the month of December at the Walton Bridge Breakfast Club. Not plod snouty Transit. 1500ccs of Dolly. Licking a car is so wrong but I was sorely tempted. So it's been Zetec'd and raced up but OMGRUSHN Polarising opinion alert: I would imagine it's a horrible driving experience but in my opinion, the motoring world is made all the richer thanks to deranged efforts such as this. Looks familiar? Why yes, it's bramz's old ride and johnreno's current one. Unfortunately I was at the other end of the car park when he departed and an opportunity to exchange AS gang signs was missed.
