davocano
Always a pleasure to see a 4 Attention to detail is important. This is an early "new" Beetle which came with the LHD fitted as standard. 344cc of Italian joy Beige Hey, it's another Toyota xAce of some sort. This time it's a MasterAce Surf Super Touring. michael t
davocano
Another contender for Spot of the Year. A family trip was momentarily interrupted because how could I simply drive on by a Vauxhall Viscount? Funnily enough, from this point onward my missus has started calling out old cars she sees when we are out and about. Coincidence? mk2_craig, ProgRocker, vulgalour and 2 others
davocano
Self-propelled Airstream trailer 2CV Harlequin* Nice bright Capri Honest looking Sierra An old turntable ladder with genuine number plate. Is that a Metrocab lurking in't back? That was my initial thought anyways. Austat, danthecapriman, mk2_craig and 1 other
davocano
OMG it's only a blummen' DACIA 1310! "How is this even possible?" was my second thought. Yeah, that's a Rickman Ranger there I somehow forgot to photograph. I got a bit distracted by what was parked adjacent to this Dacia... ... why yes, it's another 1310. Officially now my joint winners of Spot Of The Year... FACT (or possibly, FACT*). I managed to regain some composure in order to record a couple of Allegros. Completely ignored the several Spartan kit cars tho. danthecapriman, mk2_craig, bunglebus and 7 others
davocano
Rounding up the final spots of August; an unmolested Beetle An early E38, imported in 2016 My God but aren't these truly gorgeous. Haven't seen an XG30 since..... well, a long time. This one has about 20k on the clock. WANTS A local car that I finally had the chance to point and shoot at. davocano
September 1st: Walton Bridge Breakfast Club. Oooh, it's like the one that @PhilA is currently restoring, only with less doors. Haven't seen a 100 saloon in a very long while. Acclaim.. Premium Plus was a dealer special from what I can gather. Waftability. Crusader... A bit handbag but 2.8 pre-facelift desirability. What an unassuming beauty this is, what with it's 200ci motor and everything else about it. PhilA, RobT, danthecapriman and 1 other
davocano
Brooklands American Day: I saw this, thought of @Junkman and then felt a bit wistful. Brooklands Capri Day: When your Rover V8 isn't enough, simply* pile a couple of superchargers on top of it. I did wonder WTF was going on here; turns out it's a sub-5000 miler. That's some evangelical stonechip protection going on tho. 1.6 L... Meanwhile, outside in the visitor parking areas... the rear ends of two FWD hot Escorts. Another arse end. Very clean it was. Justy.... A major highlight of the year for me; Taunus 20M RS. RobT, vulgalour, danthecapriman and 2 others
davocano
Historics auction: Previously seen in the Lazy Spotter's thread but needs to be seen again, such is it's gloriousness. I believe a load of pissed-up Hooray Henries decided to recreate The Italian Job. Fair play to 'em. Lovely XJ with less than 12k on the clock. Corona coupe imported from SA. As a child in the early '70s, I was the proud owner of a Triang Gadabout pedal car which looked a bit like a mid-60s Ford Falcon IIRC. Had I been blessed with one of these, I may have grown up to become a pissed-up Hooray Henry. danthecapriman
davocano
A bunch of in-the-wild spots to conclude the month of September. Bertone X1/9 Sub-30,000 miler Alto Move. Great name for a car 'cos that's what they are designed to do. Ooof. Another local car that has been very evasive for some years. Lomax 223 with Guzzi power. Getting very thin on the ground nowadays. Well this is just lovely. michael t, danthecapriman and vulgalour

davocano
Time to update for the fairly lean month that was October, will only get leaner with the shortening daylights. This lovely '59 Parisienne with RHD and inline-six has been in the UK from new. Another lifelong UK-based six. Looks alright, dunnit. Getting very rare nowadays. Were they ever that common? davocano
A few weeks ago, I saw a patina'd and pineappled Beetle with a "GL" plate and was most concerned that it might be this (re-spotted) very original looking one. Well, here's the proof that it thankfully wasn't. Not the sort of thing that's often parked on the streets. Polo with a big boot. All your Ka vans are were belong to BT Oooh, a 3-door ZX. davocano
Another re-spot but this time with proper in-the-wild circs. Possibly unique in that it's brown, manual boxed and 2.8 litred. Very rare in the UK wearing plates of any nationality; Chrysler 200 Lancia Flavia Cabriolet There's still loads of these around, yeah? Not in my areas they aren't. It's got a petrol engine. davocano
Making the most of the AS roll I'm currently enjoying, here's the first installment for November. Not just any Mk3 Cortina 2-door; a (period) Super Speed conversion in the same vein as the Savage. This one has 3100cc. Also, a Spot of the Year contender as I think this is one of only two survivors. It has some decaying Land Rovers for company. Cool. danthecapriman, Skizzer, Austat and 2 others
davocano
The nearest I'll ever get to being a not-Lazy Spotter; an update that includes some photos taken as recently as today. Cheating a bit here 'cos it's parked in an Aston Martin dealer's holding area. F-150 Harley Edition; commemorating 100 years of Harley Davidson. A nice photo, I thoughts. Side pipes, slot mags, bonnet scoop and (according to DVLA) Rover V8. I feel a re-photo is necessary when the inconveniently parked modern (not pictured) is out of the way. Austin 8cwt still working for a living. DVLA states 2000cc so.... Rover M-series? DVLA states 1275cc. Would very much consider one as a My First Classic Car. Germanic waftage (3199cc) A futureshite fantasy of mine involves hiding one of these away and fitting it with an electric drivetrain in the year 2050. When I'll be 86 years old. Sigh. Always nice to see this kind of thing in the wild. LightBulbFun, RobT, Skizzer and 1 other

davocano
The month of November concludes with 66% Citroën hydraulique content. But first, a Volvo with them white wheels. Ooh, a ZX with appropriate plate. Historics auction highlights: a looong Merc Yet another Safari went through. Niiice Exhaust sounded like it was in need of attention but it did look cool on a winter's morn. davocano
The month of December commences with yet more Citroën hydraulique content. A re-spot from this time last year; it's had some attention since then. Walton Bridge Breakfast Club: I've attended nearly all of them since it started in 2015 and December 1 2019 was a particularly good day. AS highlights were... Blazer 2.0 LX Commer Cob with some Old Skool Rootes mods Blimey, a diesel Bedford Astra. The meet is held in a public car park and the genpop sometimes turn up in something unusual. As recently as yesterday, something to gladden the heart on a winter's afternoon. RobT, danthecapriman, LightBulbFun and 1 other
davocano
"And now, the end is near" as sung by various artistes over the years. Still a fair few Rover MG's out there? 1.4 Match which suggests bASe-ish dealer specialler to me. Oooh, nice. An '86 XR3i ragtop. While I was framing up a shot of ^, an A-plate MG Metro drove on through but I didn't catch it. GUTTEDFACE Driven by "a woman of a certain age" and not a yoot. No SCENEYO stickers anywhere, just the yoot-ish alloys. A lovely sight on the last day of the year and decade. The owner turned up at just the right time to turn the lights on for me*. Sir Snipes
A snazzy 626 like that is always worth abother look. Looks like a GTi, or whatever name Mazda were using for their sporty-something spec back then. Skizzer
davocano
Here we go then! New Year's Day Gathering at Brooklands kicks off the new year as usual. A full-fat Mondeo (I consider the ST to be full-phat). A pride of Prides. A summat (summit?) of Metros. A car that evolved... A Plah that the OAPs probably wouldn't like. Some DVLA confusions abound. Rover or Austin? Who cares, it's a van. Austat and danthecapriman
davocano
My old man had a '66 1200 deluxe back in the day and I'm fairly* certain it also had that whitewall tyres thing going on. Deffo had those wheel trims. The nearest thing you'll see to mid-'80s council estate chod in 2020. Oooh, it's one of them fancy Sports Hatch Vivas. I would have moved the sign to make the better photos but it looked a bit flimsy. Registered as a 408 but I've managed to convince myself that it is in fact a Bulgarian-built 1360. @Junkman would have loved this I believe; I certainly did. AMERICAN VASTNESS Yes, it was making RUMRUMRUMRUM noises in the bassy ends of the ranges. Blimey, a beige Opel Rekord that's been UK registered from new.
