davocano
Early plate madness. MOAR PATROTISM I have a hankering for one of these. Quite an early one. EDGE RIMZ YO or summat. mk2_craig
Metro ARX!! Not a common sight even when new. Also, liking that low spec Volvo 340 and the blue Beetle that looks like it had been plucked out of 1986.

davocano
August 1st and it's a Walton Bridge Breakfast Club. Six randomish picks from a surprisingly not oversubscribed event. Si with that fishmouth that works surprisingly well. Everyone* loves a white Chaser. A cafe racer Goldwing requiring clip-ons for the look if not the rideability. I wonder why this wasn't a common paintjob back in the day; the Capri scalloping and fins are so similar to the Mk1 'tina. GT Turbo that escaped the grubby fingers of Barry. Blimey. I've seen a few Coupes but wasn't even aware of the Kombi. rob88h, danthecapriman, puddlethumper and 3 others
davocano
A couple of weeks later, it's a Camberley Car Show. Ireland plated P5B GT Turbo that got Barried (I still quite liek it tho; it's a bit of motoring history, yeah?) Edd China's orange. This '82 Buick Riviera was getting no attention as I walked past it. A show highlight for me. I saw this on the road in a Hampshire village about 15 years ago; very pleased to point a camera at it after so long. The only Friary Anglia in the UK I'm told. davocano
It's a car boot sale on all weekends. I dunno what Charles Darwin would make of this, seeing as he croaked it shortly after the Land Rover internal combustion engine was invented Bet he'd rock this tho. I'm rocking these Freelanders with the uncluttered front end. Koreans have their thing going on too. Meanwhile, at the other end of the thing. davocano
Shame the sun went in. GOLDEN Focus. The sun came out to emphasise the ageing. davocano
Covid has fucked up my relationship with Brooklands Museum but while I was passing one day Daimler Double Six Plate suggests JDM import. Blue rope is not factory fitted for Japan nor anywhere else. Peak Japanese 'shite? Probably not but they are quite common around my areas. Early Mk2. Ghia employed as a garage hack. Life expectancy? Hmm. Quite interested in seeing these "YANK TANKS". Increasingly regular fantasies are occurring about owning one. Ooh, an Espace. davocano
Continuing with the Française-ness; a re-spot from an alternative viewpoint and location. Youngsters will always make their cars look silly. Fair play to them. In my day, we did this sort of thing to Cortinas and Escorts. davocano
All those TV channels that hardly anyone watches, the ones with frequent ads promoting donkey rescue? They ought to start broadcasting a van equivalent. Always a pleasure to spot an old Landie outside of its natural environ. Mitsubishi Challenger which I believe was an Australian market model (minus the jack-up kit obvs). Now, I've spotted TWO Land Cruiser Prados. Predictably, going the same way as the Mk3 Cavalier; not as common as they used to be. I hardly ever see them TBQH ONE CAREFUL VICAR OWNER (I'd like to imagine) Looks a bit bASe. davocano
Three prime cuts from the August spotting loaf: the 205 hiding behind that Primera up there ^ Got a bit lost in a town, caught a glimpse of an old flank up a side road that I didn't turn in to. davocano
They're not getting any commoner 'round my areas. There's more chance of spotting a 45 to be honest. davocano
These will soon disappear without trace and without acknowledgement I fear. The daft name doesn't help. Oooh, three-spokes. davocano
The seppo who designed this lump of fiberglass must be in love with England: he named it the Tiffin Allegro Talbot Express camper designed by a Corrie fan (it's a Holdsworth Topic) Don't see many G-Wagens of 1986 vintage nowadays. Oooh, a poggy 1.0 Fox Deutsche-plated Jetta Still not often I see a saloon from this era. davocano
HML suggests there's loads of 807s over here; this is the first one I've noticed and it's not even British (I could get a spot on GB News with this scoop) We all anthropomorphisise (sp?) vehicles whether we like it or not; monobrow Transit with a stupid hat and bus wheeltrims. This sort of rural-looking machinery is an unusual sight within the M25 perimeter. More of this sort of rural machinery; a Great Wall Steed that totally took a wrong turn off the M42 or some other Godforsaken backroad. Ooh, a Dodge Durango. That name sounds a bit Tarantino-esque to me. LightBulbFun, rob88h, LT84 and 4 others

davocano
Oh yeahs, there's more October spots I haven't got around to uploading. The Brooklands Museum honeypot never fails to disappoint. Almost a full length sunroof on the Polo Open Air Edition. Well over 321,000 miles on the clock of this 528i. Seicentos are disappearing fast. Gaffa is helping this one live. Still love the radical styling of these. They look more radicaller in the early '20s than they did in the late '90s. Oooh, Carina E. I remember the days when tobacco sponsorship was socially acceptable. RobT, LT84, Crackers and 3 others

davocano
I had to make an essential journey into the Metropolis proper. Chinese electric vans are the future, today. They kept the Maxus name alive to keep us gweilos happy. davocano
But wait, there's more. Just when I was thinking that pre-facelift K11s were extinct in my area, two more pop up. (Technically, these have already been facelifted in the grille area but I mean the big headlamp ones, yeah? Yeah.) Daihatsus turn me on 'cos they are a diminishing asset in the UK. Or summat. Didn't take a shot of the Volvo estate 'cos I would have had to clamber into a bush. I am not David Bellamy 'cos he's dead, yeah? A late P38. Not a common sight in Brexit Britain; a Dacia Lodgy Magnificent light clusters IMO; very symmetrical. A bit like an sci-fi aeroplane. davocano
Not the Walton Bridge Breakfast Club. That's scheduled for next Sunday. STAY TUNED Loving the rims here.
