Brilliant Matey! Enjoyed that - even more stuff than I remember you telling me about. I may have a cathartic session like this once I'm off the Moderator's watch list. Got rid of a few lately but got up to 23 middle of the year until I had to clear the farm yard. That's including the  steam loco....

Well, time for another addition to the fleet - this fleet reduction I am on is going well! Back up to 55......

After the Super Reliable* P38 did its usual trick of breaking on me, but getting me home anyway, albeit needing fixing before I can use it again, I was talking to one of my best mates about the POS and said I thought I would replace the rear shock absorbers, re MOT it, tidy it up and sell it. The downside was I would have to find a replacement 4x4/tow barge on a restricted budget. My friend offered me a deal on this, proving he is a real friend.

5.7 litre, V8, 8 seater, 4wd, hi/lo box and RHD. Whats not to like?

And NO, it is NOT a bloody Vauxhall!

A Holden Suburban? Has it got gas fitted yet? I always liked them.

Yes, a genuine Holden Suburban 1500. Most surprising is it was registered in the UK as new in November 2000. There can not be many of these sold new in the UK, the fact this was registered in November 2000 (which would have been the 2001 model year by then) yet it is a 1999 model.

MOT this week hopefully

Just been looking through the paperwork it came with, manufactured Sept 1998, sold 1/11/2000 and registered 2/11/2000 and spent all its life in London until my friend bought it in 2012. Stamped service history for 8 years at the supplying dealer.

Read through the handbook - fuel tank capacity?

159 litres!

Another one left the fleet today (whoo hoo) so I have an extra parking space! Down to 54 again....

Sold the transit on ebay a few weeks ago, good buyer, kept in touch, paid by bank transfer and his agent collected it this morning. Happy to see it go.....

This one has gone:

And now down to 52, as despite the Maestro failing to sell, I have not had the heart to weigh it in yet, but the Saab 9-3 Aero convertible went to a new home today. Had a shuffle around after it had left and I seem not to have gained any space!

  • 1 year later...

I cannot believe that more tha 2 years have passed since I started this thread. Today I was concerned that I am running out of parking spaces despite the concerted efforts* at fleet reduction and it would appear that the fleet has increased by about 10, although a couple have departed. I have posted the new additions elsewhere but thought I would take the opportunity to have photos of them all in one place.

I also thought I would update the thread with the status of those previously posted. I will not post pictures again but the numbers refer to the numbers used earlier in this thread for cross reference. It will still take a while so will do it in sections of about 10.  So, here goes:

1. Escort van - still rusting away in the same place, just a bit less of it.

2. White Saab 900i - more bits gone to other cars, still in same place. Must get the final bits off and bridge it.

3. Yellow Saab 96 - untouched

4. XR4x4 Sierra - untouched

5. Red 99T - a few more bits away but still there

6.  Yellow transit - still disolving

7.  Morris Oxford chassis - untouched

8. Sunbeam Talbot 90 - despite the previous report of it being sold. it is back! Pete decided he had too many projects, and his wife stated she would not go in it when sorted so due to a lack of storage space it is back here to be sold.

9. Rover 105 - untouched

10. Jaggy McJaaaagface - fuel pump packed up, its future is uncertain.
