Save wear and tear on tyres

Physics doesn't work like that sorry, the tyres you are driving on will wear faster due to increased load, no such thing as a free lunch in this world.

No Stolly progress this week, been busy getting ready to leave the unit and my house, I am viewing the Swedish MK1 tomorrow morning so I may be acquiring Stolly number three 😀

It's only sporting to give you all a heads up. Very rare Swedish varient with FOCO side mounted crane.

It's on a Q plate, does that mean you can get featured in kit car magazines?

Did a deal on the ex Sweden MK1 😀

So that's Stolly number three, or Agnetha as I have renamed her.

Will have to apply for the V5.

do you plan to get a dating certificate and fix the Q plate or leave it as is?

I do wonder just what Taxation class these fall into when not in the Historic Vehicle taxation class...

as a side note I noticed that GVO282J is an age related plate from 1999, yet she was first registered in 1994, do wonder if she was Q plated at first then in 1999 someone got her properly declared manufactured 1971

(id look into it deeper but im trying to stretch the £9 worth of credit I have left for as long as I can LOL)

I don't really want to try and mess with the Q plate as I have a fear they might recind the registration as because we all know officially they are too wide to be road legal.

Or is that an unfounded fear and getting the Q plate "fixed" has no danger of it being deregistered? In which case yeah I will get it corrected.

no I dont think there would be any danger of that, its the DVSA that will bother you about the road legality of a vehicle not the DVLA

all the DVLA care about is that the vehicle is what it says it is and that its properly taxed etc

Im pretty sure all you need is a suitable dating letter from whichever DVLA registered club (See V765/1) is responsible  for Alvis stalwarts and some sort of covering letter then you should be able to get it Put onto an appropriate age related plate

I think you can even also contact the MoD and get some info from them if you have a vehicle that came from them,  like I think you can get its Military equivalent of a V5 to help with some processes, although  I think thats mainly only needed for when your registering a Military vehicle with the DVLA for the first time

this FOI is worth having a look at

If you’re going to use the winch make sure you replace that Hydraulic Hose with a new one.

From the pic it looks like the original hose has “re-usable fittings” that have a habit of blowing the ends off

Yeah I do intend to use it so thanks for the heads up. Will be replacing all hoses including those for the crane etc and that goes for Biggles too. You don't fuck around with high pressure hydraulics.....

I am not able to confirm or deny any invasion plans as I would not want to give any countries prior warning, some very good suggestions of places to go all Dogs of War on though 😀

I wouldn't give the country too much notice, all they'd need to do is lay a strip of concrete a few miles wide around the border and there'd be Stollys with broken axles everywhere

Sadly I just got a call and I have been gazumped 😞So someone else will be getting Agnetha. I hope they treat her well and maybe she will be back for sale again soon, that's happened to me a lot 😀 SC100, IS200 etc, all sold, thought I had missed out and then back up for sale a few weeks later and I snapped them up!

You will just have to pick a smaller country to invade
