I'd shop around for your C license.

They are harder than it looks; it'll need to be a minimum 10t truck with a 5ton load (demonstrated by 5 1k litre IBCs) and it's at least 8 metres long. They needed to have ABS and be a closed construction (no flat beds). That's what it was in Ireland when I did it. It's probably the same here.

Kinda rules out old sheds of lorries as they need ABS and the minimum number of mirrors. And a tachograph.

You're probably looking at about £1000-1200 here from talking to people who did it. I paid a bit less in Ireland, seemed to be cheaper there.

Plus the cost of doing a driver's CPC as well
Not needed to drive a private HGV I thought?

Unless forming a company and registering/insuring the vehicles to it means you do need cpc, operators licence and all that jazz?

Something for you to check h_k if you haven't already.

Well a bit random but some guy has just asked if I can restore his Datsun 240Z for him...... I  mean I could have a crack at it but it's not exactly heavy is it?

Tell him yea but it'll cost £15k

Free* stolly!

Or if it all goes wrong you could try and jump it with said huge truck

I am tempted, jumping Stolly's is happening regardless. I want one Stolly jumping at 40MPH clear over another one.

And the Roadrunner has been deposited at a secret location lol, the sledgehammer was so I could knock through the dividing wall and instantly turn it from an £800 horsebox into a race van with an insured value of £3000, so instant paper profit! I will go down next week and give it a pre mot tinker, the horn doesn't work for a start.

Keyring's are coming along well, should be in the post to me by Friday, just got to decide who to give them to lol.

They look proper bo. Really decent looking quality to be fair. Could you pm the name of your supplier, or is it confidential information? 😅

Thanks mate I can't wait to wait to see them in person! The supplier is Bruce Holder

https://www.facebook.com/bruce.holder.5

He used to run Area 52 in Bristol on Retro Rides and I went there a lot back in the day so I know him from there. He moved to Wales and set up a business making keyring's and other cool stuff.

They look very nice quality, are they leather?

"Got the perfect leather I'm going to use for your order. Really nice character leather which, when embossed will give an awesome contrast (the embossed lettering will be smooth) which will enhance the industrial feel.

I can't wait to get these done, I know you're going to love them!"

The guy is a perfectionist!

Ah, the fella formerly known as MM from the blue. I didn't realise you were one of the A52 visitors from back in the day. I enjoyed reading about the escapades at the unit and always liked his Bedford Rascal sat on turbines.

Looking at his profile,  he's done really well since the early days of his laser cutting work, which is particularly apparent when looking at his current fleet! His products look great quality too, which is also apparent in the keyrings you've commissioned.
