*ROFFLE* sports moped* Raleigh RSW pushbike with chainsaw engine

Recommended Posts

I'm getting royally pissed about by two bob botty rockets on social media trying to sell this, so it's for sale cheaper on here.

It's a 1960's (I think) Raleigh RSW (Raleigh Small Wheels) push rocket, with a 50cc chain saw engine fitted. The creator said it does 30mph, best of luck with that gig, I'm not brave enough to try that.
It's actually got an electric start and kill switch fitted, but the NSPCC might have something to say if you let your kids loose on it. There's no chain guard, the brakes are about as fit for purpose as my kn0b is to the porn industry.
Great laugh to ride (bike, not my kn0b) though, and you're not likely to find too many others. Believe it or not, it doesn't have an MOT, nor is it road legal, though some illiterate moron on social media asked me if it was.

No, you can't pedal it and if you ride it home then that's your look out.

£100, firm. It's located in Chester.

ROFFLE £2 per ticket.

It's not a powered bike Mr.Policeman, I'm just transporting this chainsaw engine........

I actually had an RSW (mine was blue IIRC) when I was about 10, I paid about £3 for it while I saved up for my new 5-speed. The main issue with them was the small wheels, if you tried to go fast, which when you are 10, is always, then you got an early introduction to a type of motorcycle-style tank-slapper.

Is it dreadfully noisy?

It's not actually too bad, probably no worse than an FS1E, or the likes. Think there's a video of it on my 'phone somewhere, but I can't upload it to here for some reason.

I've done 30mph on my one using my legs. I thought it was surprisingly stable at that speed!

I was exceptionally skinny and weighed sod all so that might have something to do with it!!!!

Either that or because it was a £3 knackered PoS.

I still have the scar from my tank slapper and fall off a Raleigh chopper - going downhill really fast.

From my experience of Raleigh Choppers going downhill really fast isn't a necessary prerequisite of an injury, going downhill really slowly will yield much the same results.

You could fall off a Chopper just by looking at one. That small front wheel was lethal for sharp turn ins.

Cycles are free to take on most trains and I'll knock a full fifty English pence off the asking price if someone takes this home by rail.

Chop the bottom out of one of these to cover the engine, change the gopping fuel tank for an old cycle drinks bottle of pre mix and no one will be any the wiser* as you zoom** past them.

The saddlebag might need lining with some sort of soundproofing material possibly...

The wife has an electric Brompton (paid for out of her money fortunately given it's the best part of two grand) and keeps wanting me to get an electric bike (I have knackered knees), so this would be absolutely ideal, after all, I could claim it's electric given it has a battery....

Post if it's sold, otherwise when I'm back from holiday I might have to take a trip over the Woodhead or Snake Pass.

This is true - but my mate made it to the bottom of that long hill without falling off his - bastard.

Didn't really want to be selling this without seeing it through fully, but as I've now 3 cars on my own fleet out of 4 needing attention, I feel I must make room and time to get on with those.
Bought originally as a non-runner, I had it towed home, pulled the wiring apart and buzzed the loom, and taped it back up. I have been using it without fault for around 200 miles, save for some water getting in the abs unit plug. (I have treated it with elec. Cleaner and Wd40, it occasionally misbehaves in wet weather still)
It now has a comprehensive service history, it has had a refurbished rear axle, alternator and a new clutch within the last few years, and the cambelt done in 2014 at 73k.
Currently the mileage is 114k and the mot is due June 2020, in my opinion the sills may require attention as they are a bit tatty, for the time being I have flatted them back and covered them in stone chip paint. The body is generally good, save for giffer touch ups all over in the wrong shade of green.
It has remote central locking, both keys and does generally drive really well, HOWEVER, the EGR valve seems to be stuck as when vacuum tested, it holds but does not sound to be moving. This manifests itself as a slight hunting between 1800-2000rpm.
EDIT- EGR NOW REPLACED, NOT MADE ANY DIFFERENCE.
I will give it a minor service before collection, but the price is a firm £650, which reflects the work it has had in the past, but also the fact it needs a little more fettlement.

Hallo chaps. Too much tat lying and I have a funeral to pay for...
Mk2 Mondeo 2.0i Zetec, 44k miles, on ST170 alloys plus comes with a set of original spec 5-spoke alloys on duff tyres. MOT til 27/5/2020, some history and a recent battery.
There are a few marks (pictured), the rear arches aren't too far gone and it has had welding done on the sills.
The front windows open fine but need a little help closing, they come out the runners on the way up. C/L and heated screen work fine, as does the electric drivers seat adjustment. The clutch bites cleanly and the car pulls well through all the gears.
It has been sitting a month or so due to the diesel Proton's arrival and I could really do with the cash (unless someone has a carb-fed Proton saloon kicking about in which case I'll sell my arse instead).
Advertised elsewhere for £525, £400 on here with shiters discocunt applied.
Car is in Paisley, Scotland, four minutes walk from Paisley Canal station.
