Mash
CROMA! Prefer the earlier flat-face ones, but still a nice find!Saw a Polish registered one this afternoon. Ooh ooh Chrysler 2-litre. Someone's always advertising in Practical Classics for one. Anyone see the minter at the BMC/BL show this year?

wuvvum
Ooh, a facelift Croma! Haven't seen one o'them in years. Tempted, especially at that price, although I haven't really got a tow vehicle at the moment. I've still got a brocuhre somewhere for one of those, picked up at the 1992 Birmingham motor show if memory serves...

wuvvum
I agree, looks late '70s-early '80s - pretty sure it's not as old as '60s. I'm sorely tempted to have a bid on this, the main thing putting me off is how I'd go about sourcing a windscreen for it.
Mr_Bo11ox
Just make a new one out of wood with two peep-holes in it. Sorted.
wuvvum
Are you going to have a bid then wuvs?Nope, 'fraid not. Engine management issues are one thing I steer well clear of. Even though I'm getting better with car electronics (having successfully bypassed the immobiliser on the Justy andfixed the climate control on the Daewoo in the last couple of weeks) I don't yet feel ready to attack fuel injection ECUs and the like... Ratdat
I don't reckon it'd be too hard to get a screen for that. Probably worth just trying some windcreen supliers here. Martin Bridle Windscreens in Christchurch down in Dorset used to be able to get me virtually anything when I lived down that way. Real old school place that's been there for donkeys years. Mr_Bo11ox
The aggressive power delivery of this Charade automatic was clearly too difficult for its current owner to control, with the result that they clacked it into a bollard in Morrison's car park. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1997-Daihatsu-Charade-Accident-Damaged_W0QQitemZ110201942094

Might just have to have a dibble on this. Wouldn't remain a "V"-reg for long. What's wrong with V reg then? My Ritmo wears it's V reg with pride! wuvvum
£770 isn't bad i suppose, but i'd not have paid that I paid £10 for mine. 'Twas a 928cc jobbie in orangey brown and one fo the slowest cars I've ever owned. Couldn't complain for a tenner though. No way I'd ever consider paying more than £500 for one, unless it was a Lotus of course.

Mash
Where are all thes Accords coming from??There was a really nice B-reg saloon on the Bay a couple of weeks ago down in Cornwall which was fully loaded with leccy everything, PAS and even aircon. My guess is that now's the time to buy low mileage 80s stuff from their original owners. They bought a new car 20 years ago or more when they retired and now have given up driving or died so these cars are steadily filtering through.Sunbeam was damned expensive in that condition - definitely a drift candidate.
