"Cough" I am just about to add the mk2 escort ghia "cough"

I didn't realise that was to do with you!, Has Fredtransit seen it yet?, I'm sure it will get her going!
I love the minibus, so rare to see one with seats still.

I can't believe somebody made a 160 chassis cab into a pick up! A lot were ordered and cut down for ambies (mine included) and had V6s fitted. The pick up is nice though, and there is a good £100 to be got back by selling the spoiler.

If I recall that's the diesel engine that was so badly designed that it needed rebuilds a laughable amount of times and gave diesel engines such a bad reputation that to this day that barely any cars in the US are diesel-powered. Sounds brill, I'd love it!

Strong engine the 5.7 diesel lump. Unfortunately they used to vibrate so much the oil pick up pipe in the sump would fall off and starve 'em of oil. Kwalitay enjineerink.

Save a Magnum!

Posted Image

WE HAVE BEEN OFFERED THIS BEAUTIFUL 1974 VAUXHALL MAGNUM BY A CUSTOMER OF OURS AS PART OF THE GOVERNMENTS "SCRAPPAGE SCHEME" AND IT'S FAR TOO NICE AND UNUSUAL TO CRUSH SO WE NEED TO FIND AN ENTHUSIAST TO TAKE THIS ON

Yahoo maybe there is hope!

BUT IF IT DOES NOT MEET THE RESERVE IT WILL HAVE TO BE SCRAPPED AS PER THE GOVERNMENTS DELIGHTFUL SCHEME.

Booo...

Q: Hi. can I ask what the reserve is please?? 14-May-09

A: Hi Due to the huge number of people asking, we have decided to post this answer on the listing. The reserve is set at £2499, as the government will give £2000 for the car to be scrapped, but we as enthusiasts ourselves would like to see it saved, but we do need to recoup our costs and give our customer an incentive for saving the car. Andy

£2499 - What!! Looks like that poor old Vauxhall is doomed. Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Hmmm, I smell bullshit. Surely no-one running a Magnum would be lobbing it in for a brand new car? :? Maybe if it was an old boy who'd had it since new but not in this case.Or would they.....? I mean, I would have thought it highly unusual for anyone running a 70s car on a daily basis to be considering a new car - driving something that old is a concious decision isn't it?

Yeah the government's end of the scrappage deal is a grand, so if they want their money back, the difference should be the price, not two and a half! If this really is a scrappage victim, and doesn't sell, I would like to dobb em in for not keeping their end of the deal. Sorry I think this is right up there with "buy this or it will be bangered".

I call shennanigans on that Magnum, it somehow smacks of the retards we have recently seen who have interpreted the scrappage thing as giving their tat a 2K value. I suspect the Magnum has changed hands recently and is thus safe, was probably traded in prior to the scrapage.

Ah, good point actually. The scheme didn't start until 15 May...
