NB. THIS CAR MAY SOON BE WORTH £2500! To UK Government is contemplating offering £2500 (ish) for cars over 10-12 years old when buying a new car. As they are doing currently in Germany - albeit 2500 euros. [info from the radio and TV recently] i.e. Similar as trading in your old washing machine or fridge to buy a new one - but this system with HMG backing!

knob

Someone on RR Emailed the seller, apparently it will be scrapped if it doesn't sell. Starts at £1000 with a reserve! What a cretin.

He's also put in the description that all teh lights and sirens work, which is against eghey regs, so the auction will probably get pulled anyway.I wonder what he actually thinks a rotten old delta is worth?

I had a shagged out old Delta back in the early 90's which cost me the grand total of £350 - about the same as I'd pay for his one.

Dunno! I think some people just think all you need to create an eye-catching talking point for your business is to buy any American 4-door, give it a half-arsed rattlecan respray in black/white, add a light bar (or some £4.99 emergency beacons from Motorworld, or some red plantpots, or don't even bother), visit a signwriter and get a load of "HIGHWAY PATROL" stickers made up then dump it outside your tattoo parlour/specialist clothing store/independent music shop and leave it to grow gradually more rotten, unwashed and forgotten-looking. Then when you start receiving complaints from environmental health, bosh it up on eBay for double what it cost, because you did spend an entire afternoon respraying it after all.

Now then gang, what do we think of this?

Here's my current thoughts:

+ Sherpa. Super-shite points.

+ LPG & cheapo insurance = low running costs

+ Cheap

+ Ready to use

- Sherpa. Nasty to actually drive any distance

- Bit on the tiddly side!

Now I know cars have 'grown' over the last few years, reckon this could be OK for shifting older chod on it without falling off the back? Again, just for local work not major cross-country exec-level collection & delivery so I can overlook things like the 'sherpaness' of it. What motive power is that likely to be? 1700 o-series??

GR8 4 SHIFTIN MINIZ.

Slowly.

I wouldn't buy it purely on the basis of that at some point you'll want to shift a big car and then you're screwed. Might as well wait until something a bit longer crops up and then you're all set to move anything. That thing, even with just that Corset on it look like a prime VOSA magnet.
