Not eBay, but seen by me yesterday…

This 1.6GL estate is on the forecourt of a local Renault specialist, being sold on behalf of a customer. 5-speed, 70k, looked remarkably solid (I have more pic’s). No idea on price, just a contact number for the owner. Been there for several weeks now, might be worth a cheeky offer? May have a reasonable bit of MoT left, going to give the chap a call. PM me if it tickles your fancy.

That Tagora unbelieveably is right where I live! It needs to be saved, even if it is only broken for spares to keep another one on the road. I am not supposed to be buying any more cars at the moment and I don't have space for it really, although if someone on here is interested I may be able to find somewhere short term for it until it can be collected.....

It does look like frag feed to me, having said that the reg must be worth a few quid if you can legally get it off that pile of scrap! Also the triple webers would make serious coin to some Renault Alpine folk on French ebay I would say.

1988 Mazda 626 2.0 GLX

£150 with emissions problem. Be careful as I think these are awkward to sort out, but it sounds like an absolute cracker of a car - 66K and 1 owner! Lovely.

We had one of those, that exact model. It was by far the worst car I've ever driven. Slow to the point of being dangerous, single figure mpg, massively overweight, no brakes at all and no headroom. That was with a full dealer service history too.

Advert says the Saab has the 1850 Triumph engine. Didn't Saab make their own engines?

Not back then they didn't. The only engine Saab have ever designed completely from scratch was the little two-stroke in the 92-96. The later 96's used a Ford Cologne V4, and the early 99s used a Triumph Dolomite ohc engine in either 1709cc or 1854cc capacities. All Saab four-pots after that were basically evolutions of the Triumph engine, although I don't think any parts are interchangeable between, say, a 1985cc 900 and a Dolomite - although I did fit a Dolomite fuel pump to one of my 99s when the Saab item packed up. To be fair, I think Saab did have a hand in the original development of the 1850 slant-four though.
