pogweasel
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2004-MG-ZT-120-bh ... 0276623831 Now here's something 'new' I could get the horn for: Nice looking, pretty cheap, and LPG for the mingebag win. Though I assume 120bhp would be just a tad on the 'limp' side. Might have to srsly look at one these when the £'s start rolling i again.
155V6
That seems cheap for one of those, even without the LPG option on it.It might seem a bit gutless as you say,I have seen the ZT 260 V8s with LPG conversions, but they're 3 or 4 times the price of that

pogweasel
Cut the belts! Not sure why, but when XR3i's were popular, a common 'mod' was to remove the ABS by cutting the belt. Presumably it gave you +125bhp or somesuch bollocks. More power is what you need when you can no longer stop as good. Quickclear screens are 'the win' though, amazing that Ford have had them on fairly cheap motors for 20 years and that STILL most new cars you have spend 15 minutes scraping the ice off the fuquer and another 25 mins waiting for the heater to demist the screen..... Owain-328i
Id say it must be a patent, ive only ever seen them on Fords! I had one on an Orion Ghia years ago, and there absolutely brilliant!! Ive never seen one on a BMW or such-like!
pogweasel
Surely you can't patent the whole concept though, some clever sausage must be able to come up with somehting that works the same but is just subtley different enough to avoid litigation???My mate's had a Festier for about 8 years now with a heated screen, it's fantastic! Pillock
Yes it is a patent, Jags have them too with Ford owning/owned them so no licencing fees. It does seem a bit odd that nobody else has tried a way around it, maybe with horizontal wires instead of vertical, but the patent is due to expire soon anyway.I'm told the 7 Series BMWs have it, and BMW have paid for the rights to use it, but not sure if this is true. As for the Ford Mechanical ABS, yes there is a power increase to be had but very very slight, hardly worth bothering about. However what is worth bothering about is the fact it's RUBBISH as a safety measure, and adds about three lightyears to your stopping distance if it kicks in. I'm sure when electronic systems were introduced later on, some magazine tested electronic vs mechanical vs none and found you had more chance of stopping with none at all than the Ford system. Guest
Threw in a rather hopeful bid and it's reserve not met, as to be expected. Maybe he'll take pity on me and give it to me for nowt. Now asking him how much it'll cost to get an MOT on it. Just out of curiousity really as it'd really be stretching my finances past breaking point if I bought this lovely low-mileage Carina Wagon, with its Hirst-tastic 1600 engine, really drab interior, lovely rectangular lights and sharp swage lines which go all the way round, making it not only the most attractive wagon ever made but ultimately one of my favourite cars ever. I'll just pass up on it. I'd have to live solely on economy tinned hot dogs for weeks, that'd be absolutely foolish. I'm not even going to pursue it further. Just going to close the window now before I do anything daft. I can live without this car. No problem. I'll just forget it even existed, soon it'll be off the page and I won't even look at it ever again. It's gone now! Bye Carina!DESPAIR.

Guest
Yes, the entire thing looks like some kind of shrine to dogs, check out the rear side windows. It might stink inside! It also looks like it's had a little tap at the front which I'm going to try to pretend has caused severe damage to the chassis. Feel free to point out other discouraging points, it will help me ultimately.
