HillmanImp
Usually the url works fine if you just copy the first part - up to and including the item number, thus:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200266547282 Will give that a go next time. On a separate matter, considering a punt on that Blue Renner 9 as its just down the road from me. How often is it recommended a cambelt is changed on one of them? Its got 59k on the clock. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/86-RENAULT-9-BROADWAY-22-YEAR-OLD-AND-STILL-VERY-NICE_W0QQitemZ260306394516Wooh! Shorter url works. Top one nice one. They're a good old-fashioned pushrod lump in those 9s.Ah....however that does impact on the performance aspect. Would mean it is probably not suitable for hillclimbs and rallycross Cant really justify buying it, but than again if the price stays low i cant justify not buying it. Have always really like Renault 9's. I think it harks back to when my Dad was going to but one for my mum and then didn't. I was proper disapointed. From memory that one had beige corduroy seats and everything. Wooooh!

And they're the same engine as used in the 5 GT Turbo, just without the turbo, so the potential is there to make them go very quickly indeed. Richard
They go well enough, especially with the twin choke carb. It's an old fashioned engine so you don't have to keep it over 9600RPM to make progress. Economy was exceptional for the time too, 40-45mpg overall was realistic even the way I drove. OK, I've changed my trousers and checked my bank balance and there's no way I can afford that. I'd almost rather have one of those than a DS. r.welfare
A 24BT is an amazing cool device. So ahead of it's time. And one assumes catastrophically unprofitable for Panhard.

I'd like one The BT is a bit long, proportions of the CT are better. B is the saloon and C is coupe but they look very similar. I'd love to have one, but three and a half grand is a lot for a car that doesn't really work. And I'd always wish I had the coupe too.... As for not wanting to put seatbelts in as a reason for selling, the bloke is bonkers or fibbing, shirely?
HillmanImp
Auction ended early as the item is no longer for sale. Shame. Had spent the morning getting insurance quotes instead of doing important work. I used to have a Renner 5 with the same engine and from memory it was okay, but had nothing to compare it to at the time. It had cetainly managed to gain some speed as it was stacked into a roundabout by some scrutters. Could have probably done with some anti-lock brakes though considering the skidmarks leading up to the impact. I had always assumed that the GT Turbo had a much bigger engine. Thats pretty impressive stuff.
