its 8v -MrB, they all were. Sorry -not really planning on selling -its quite fun really. Good tow car and nicely torquey -but the clutch looks a nightmare- and it prob needs an exhaust now.....How many - well over 100, havent counted in several years- but the filing cabinet of V5c is very nearly full!

It was off the road 4 years 3 months before I existed! 5 months after my R14 was registered and 15 months before my Ritmo was registered - that's how long it's been off the road!:lol:

Oh Nigel, have you had a 133 before? You must have it for your collection! (then I get to see it outside your house!)Although according to the photo it won't be available for nearly another 4 years! :roll:PS: You realise that everytime I quite like something I'm going to suggest you get it, as the next best thing to me having it myself! :D

Hey Reg -Tuesday night I met a Renault afficionado who's daily driver is an 11, back up is 2 (yes 2!) 14's!!!!Lives in Rochester- quite likely to meet again in a month or so when I'll ask for pics..Fiat 133 -nope not for me. Too damn small for my liking these days- and I've got my hands full at pres.

Mk2_Craig could have one & China Tom the other! How did this meeting come about, just by chance or were you making another purchase?Yes pics are an absolute must - infact better than that, get them to register with Autoshite!

Ok, I'm interested. Find out if they are UK originals, or from over the stream. I'll be up for a LHD one. What is the ball-park value for a 14 if it is non-show, but driveable? I've got major resto work pencilled in for the Jag next year so can't be paying silly prices. Thank goodness MkI & II Ford Escorts don't do it for me.

TBH I'm hoping they're UK originals, which isn't any good for you but it's more positive to think there are a couple more indiginous survivors!

The only way a LHD one would be over here would be if it was brought over by a Renault nut who was desperate to have one, which will mean they'll be unlikely to want to let it go!

No R14 will be worth much, even in mint condition it's only the crackpot Frenchies that will ask thousands of euros for one! Mine cost £80 which got me what you are looking for, an MOT'd useable one in need of a bit of TLC but major resto not required. I wouldn't expect to pay more than £100 - 200 for one that does what it's supposed to without having been pampered. Mind you, those days could be gone - I mean two grand for an R30!! The 14's not in the same league car wise, but it is rarity wise! :D

As I said elsewhere, the only other R14 I've ever seen advertised over here was in 1999 and they wanted £375 for a car in lovely condition, so work your way up or down from there.

Heyyy, you should get him to list one/both with ridiculous (ten grand) reserve prices on Ebay free listing day, would be interesting to see how much the general public would be willing to pay for a real life R14. The last one I saw on the move was about 7 or 8 years ago and even then I thought "jesus f*cking christ that's doing well to still be in use". I am however aware that there remains a decent number of R14s registered (if not necessarily in existence) in Jersey, including one bronze Safrane special edition
