FredTransit
I have a feeling that due to it's age that is MOT exempt anyway. Either way it's exempt from the LEZ.

pompei
I love those early Zastavas - they have a real look of their 128 step-daddy and that one looks to have REEL FIAT RIMZ. I used to think they looked like a cross between a 128 and a Simca 1100.

trigger
Why are you always trying to flog your 1602 off? It's a nice car.I've lost my Mojo with it MC, It might just be because it's that time of year but it needs two new front wings, bottom of both doors plating and two new rear wheel arches and spraying down both sides, I've been quoted £1500 + parts to get it done and it's just naffed me off a bit.It wasn't that rusty back in June when i got it but now it looks bad. It's also spend a lot of the summer of the road whilst i had to wait for the clutch to be done, Master cylinder repaired, twice, exhaust breaking, Radiator leaking, repair the wiring loom as i had no wipers or rear lights, the carb blocked up and the battery died the other day as well.I know it's the joy of old car ownership but it's took my enthusiasm away from it a bit, I reckon I'll sell it next month and get something that's be looked after a bit better rather that one that's not been used for years. fordnut
WTF? It says that Transits got an all GRP body apart from the front end. Never seen one like that before! Guess that's why it looks so solid.Sounds like bollocks to me, GRP bodies for the MOD only? WTF? Guess Fred will have the final say on this though.Tis the stuff of legend, I never saw one myself before this was on the last time (seem it's now been robbed of it's V4 and auto). Legend has it it was made for the bomb squad during the IRA era, something to do with the large amount of metal present in a normal transit set off the unstable IRA bombs.Spoke to someone today who was in the bomb squad during the IRA era and he said this was utter rubbish, if anything the vehicles they used tended to be armour plated or specialist military vehicles.
