Can anyone recommend a good classic car accident repair place? Preferably one that isn't fully booked for months.

My BiL but he is ooop north. Makes panels and repair sections for all sorts of stuff he’s had in. Mainly does old frog chod but has wheeling and panel beating background.

Tragic about Cedric I’ve always had a real soft spot for that era of Japanese motors.

Another quality wheel arch repair..... I used colour coded duct tape and everything!

I just love the little details on it.Β

Suzuki obviously still have a soft spot for it too πŸ˜€ I might lease one as a company vehicle πŸ˜€

LJK Setright himself wrote a glowing review of the SC100 for Car magazine.....

Who knows mate. Or they just were not insured which is a very real possibility in Birmingham unfortunately.

Random but I do love Birmingham..... The city of a thousand trade's where you can still get anything made. Best curry in the world, we have a BT Tower,Β  the Rotunda,Β  a Lego Store, great transport links etc etc.

After Amsterdam, Birmingham is my favourite city ❀

Mine too.Β  I may retire there from the coast.Β

I will get a full four wheel laser alignment done on it though just to be sure.Β

If it were a car made by Birmingham's finest. I'd suggest that a brand new car from the 70s checked by a 4 day laser alignment rig, is likely to be pretty bad, before an accident

Yours will be fine..probably.Β

@sims00

@tom13

I didn't say because I was hoping it would be recovered but the Sportcross was stolen a couple of weeks ago 😞

I really miss it and still want to put a 3UZ in one so I have secured a replacement example which I am probably collecting tomorrow.Β

Lol just noticed it's got a towbar!

20210706_191133_04.thumb.jpg.954b2b868ca00bd7d4db18e11f945d92.jpg

It's black interior so black on black πŸ˜€It's coming on standard wheels, lights, bumper etc and a less rusty bonnet which I am helping Ricky (the IS200 breaker I got the tailgate and subframe from) fit tomorrow.

Ah man. What a wounder. May I ask when it was stolen? As I saw it driving around about 2 weeks ago.Β

It was the afternoon of 17th JuneΒ

Looked like you got a nice one with the new one. Blacks pretty rare and the tow bars are none existent.Β

Yeah it's the perfect basis for what I want to do with it πŸ˜€

Taxed and insured the 940 today, it's still for sale once I polish it as it really is surplus to requirements now I have the 265 project.

It still drives nicely though and doesn’t feel slow after the van, I did 20,000 mile in my old Turbo so it is nice to smoke around in a 940 occasionally πŸ˜€

  • Heidel_Kakao changed the title to Estate(s) of the nation - Gagging to get started on Volvo 265 GLE project πŸ˜€

Now I need to go to Finland to fetch Cedrics spare bonnet I am actually going to follow @LightBulbFunsuggestion and take the Roadrunner. I should be able to find an excellent breaker Volvo 200 and maybe even a cool Nissan, Saab (never owned one would love an estate) or Volvo..... Or who knows what I could find in a Scandinavian scrapyard....

SoΒ the Roadrunner will be prepared for a 4000 mile round trip.Β  We will need comfy seats (Rangerover Classic) decent stereo, air conditioning, turbo Cummins 6BT, different axle ratio depending on how he cruises, electric windows, central locking,Β think of all the toys you get on modern trucks applied to a 1988 Leyland.

Picked up the Sportcross πŸ˜€ I love it πŸ˜€ It's much better than my old one no offence @sims00Β @tom13

Black has black interior, new battery, double din stereo with screen, starter button, short shifter, and saving the best for last it's got rocking horse shit because yes it has the towbar πŸ˜€It's pictured with my LS430 which will in January next year be donating it's lovely 3UZ to go in the Sportcross!

About the short shifter, Ricky casually mentioned it just as I was about to drive off..... OM fucking G it's only the best gear change I have ever experienced in any car I have ever driven bar none, standard six speed which will take the 300BHP of the V8 no problem.

That's now relevant again πŸ˜€ I love Japanese cars. Worked out earlier I have had at least one Suzuki (It all started with a white 1983 Suzuki SJ410 soft top reg A343 FLX, my first ever car) Nissan/Datsun, Subaru (Impreza) Honda* (Triumph Acclaim but it's really a Honda Ballade so it counts) Mitsubishi* (Proton Saga but that's close enough right? Toyota/Lexus,Β  Mazda (323 RWD estate) I think the only one I am missing is Isuzu (would love a Piazza)

I do have a secret purchase that I haven't collected yet which is Japanese and 1960's and not from a brand I have owned previouslyΒ πŸ˜€ It'sΒ not an estate though so when it gets revealed it will be elsewhere.....

If they ain't busy it may be because they aren't very good. Tread carefully! If they have loads of stuff that isn't getting done they may be rubbish as well. Tread carefully!
