KruJoe Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Yes, I think I got that turning to pull out the sender. From memory, it's a black plastic ring with the thread on the outside, and maybe about 10 of those teeth things on the inside, which help us turn it.
beko1987 Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 I remember you hammering the retaining ring round. Im shite at ebay parts buying so I'm staying away from the radiator links! chodweaver 1
KruJoe Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Right, I'll have a look at the links shortly and make a decision... After that, I'll go up to the shed with the camera and check out the sender fittings for Tim. sporty-shite 1
KruJoe Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 B.I.N.ing this now: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190705052583 Soonest delivery, and happens to be the cheapest at £57.50 delivered. somewhatfoolish, beko1987, strangeangel and 1 other 4
KruJoe Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Also this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162540222416 I couldn't find one cheaper than this one Mark found. £7.79 delivered. strangeangel and beko1987 2
KruJoe Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Does anyone have some fine (paper) filters like these, which they could bring this weekend? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-Universal-Petrol-Inline-Fuel-Filter-LARGE-Car-Part-Fit-6mm-and-8mm-Pipes-/221148063712?hash=item337d73a7e0:g:8esAAOSwYHxWP3Hq (preferably clear ones so we can see what's going on inside.) Please shout up if so. If not, I'll grab them for £3 tonight. Currently fitted is a gauze one I had with me at Shitefest, but it's not very fine, I'm afraid small lumps might get through it and undo Strangeangel's hard work on the carb.
KruJoe Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 It's gone a bit quiet in here today! I've just dropped £2.99 on those filters.
ruffgeezer Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Yeah sorry I got buried in fixing my brother in law's Meriva today so have been in full veg out mode tonight.
KruJoe Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Ha ha no worries Tim. Ouch... Meriva... I feel your pain. Here's some pics for you, hope they don't give you nightmares: Obviously our securing ring isn't in place just now.
ruffgeezer Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Yup looks good, it'd just want the filter swapping over. KruJoe 1
barrett Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Any interest in a slightly scruffy, slightly damaged but correct mk1 rear bumper FOC? I can collect and store, just say the word and I'll get on it! somewhatfoolish, egg, KruJoe and 3 others 6
KruJoe Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Ooh, good find Barrett!I'd say yes please, but I'm not an owner. Let's wait for them to chime in. I other news, a rad has landed at C_C today: I hope that label is lying... strangeangel 1
KruJoe Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Check it out! Get in! egg, dollywobbler, The Moog and 4 others 7
KruJoe Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 LOLOLOL Nice one Tim, thank you! The Moog, strangeangel, egg and 5 others 8
ruffgeezer Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I'm not an owner but I'd say Barrett get on that bumper. We probably won't get many opportunities to get another! strangeangel and KruJoe 2
Dave_Q Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I am also not an owner, but I say YES PLS to the free and suitably brown bumper. KruJoe and strangeangel 2
KruJoe Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Thanks again Ruff, just the job. Wanna come and fit it for us? holbeck and strangeangel 2
holbeck Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I would say yes to the free brown bumper. Maybe Egg could be persuaded back into ownership if the bumper was close to him even if the rest of the car is up north. Seriously, surely some sort of random shite relay could deliver that bumper.

Logistics can be worked out later. Are we still on for a working party this Sunday, Joe?
strangeangel Posted June 22, 2017 Author Posted June 22, 2017 What else was on our shopping list, Jaz? Sorry, Joe, I've not been very motivated this week. The shopping list was/is: the aforementioned rada water pump (cos, while the original does work, we suspect it's as corroded as lots of the other alloy bits of the engine)beltsfuel filters (which I see you have)fuel sender (as above)air filter element If we're still on for Sunday I shall bring spray wax for the fuel/brake lines, and some contact cleaner to try and improve the operation of that beam switch. It would also be good if we could get the electric windows functioning again.
Lacquer Peel Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 What's the progress with the other Castle_Cleland BX?
KruJoe Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Welll, I persuaded Will to fix the front end and run it about for a couple weeks before he buggered off to the foreign, which he did. Which is nice. My most recent photo: ...in which the back end has sunk whilst running... you may just see the stream of green from under the sill as it dumps its load. Bloody thing. I thought it'd do it good to come out for a warm up and a photo once in a while. That'll teach me. strangeangel, Lacquer Peel, rob88h and 1 other 4
Lacquer Peel Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Erroneous wheel trims "get in cattle grid". Fingers crossed it's just a pipe. robinmasters and KruJoe 2
KruJoe Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I had that set of 14" trims from a broken 214, I put them on just to troll Will. He didn't come up with owt better, so they remain. StangeAngel has since donated some better ones, so they'll likely happen. YES we're still on for Sunday. Anyone who'd like to attend, please PM me for directions if you don't already have 'em. strangeangel and Lacquer Peel 2

beko1987 Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Where about's is the bumper? (no idea where Barratt lives...)
Lacquer Peel Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Brighton or somewhere else too far south I believe. KruJoe 1
