There's no chance you'll ever see Junkman on these pages again, or possibly even the Dark Wob: he's just a bit sick of fora in general.

My suspicion is the feeling is mutual.

I really liked a lot of his content and of course his cars, but in the end he just became a parody of himself (ultimately a cartoon character anyway).

Still, we’re all fighting our own private battles I guess. ?‍♂️

I really should have bought this one instead of paying double for an identical but rhd R16 that needed quite a bit of work before it could be used reliably. High 30s mpg!! How does he manage that? And an orange interior! I can't even remember why I didn't buy it now. Silly boy.

Didn't JM ask for his threads to be deleted, mods?

That's an awful lot of work for whoever administrates the database, and would make loads of old threads nonsensical. If it was me I'm pretty sure I couldn't be bothered.

EDIT: Sorry, just read that again and saw you said 'posts', not 'threads', If it's that much of a problem he could always come back and delete them himself? He's not banned, after all.

There’s a 1979 16 that’s turned up on a driveway round the corner from my house. It looks reasonably solid from what I can see but it looks to have been stood for some time previously to turning up here.

The driveway and house it outside of belongs to the local banger racer though...

Pics and more info, please!

They seem a bit flimsy to use as a banger or are they stronger than they look?

They didn’t seem particularly well used by the banger boys. Maybe that said a lot? There’s an old video on YouTube I was watching of racing in the early 90’s I think and there was one on track. Pretty sure it was Surrey Street squad (white with red spots paint job).

I’ll try to get a sneaky pic of it in the next few days. It turned up just before Xmas and has been sat there unused since but it’s often blocked in by a van making it hard to get a pic, or the number plate, but it’s a T reg. from what I can see it’s been badly painted in a flat blue but there’s patches of it peeling off and it looks to be silver underneath. I’ve no idea what spec it is either. Could well be a good source of spares if nothing else though?

Leave it with me...

I for one have missed his hilarious eBay advert comments, not sure I get how he became a cartoon character, opinions are subjective I guess, I know he could appear blunt but surely that to me was his charm. I am also aware of the whole debacle that was the genesis of TDW and the loss of some really entertaining content generators as evidenced by holy thread resurrection Junkman.

How much time does it take to look at his profile see his threads and press delete?

I personally wouldn't like to loose them but they are full of his pics and they are his work making them his,  unless of course there's some small print saying they  now belong to the forum to do whatever you like with them then his request isn't an unfair one.

There are 47,000 of them.  If it takes 3 seconds to press delete and press confirm and wait for  the screen to redraw then that’s over 39 hours of non-stop deleting.

Or we could all pay for a SQL developer to build and test some scripts to do it without screwing up the integrity of the database. A couple of grand should cover it. It might even work.

Or we could just forget it and move on.

What junkman has 47,000 threads  ?

I'm shocked he even had time to do anything else.

I remember a banger racer called Mr Reno back in the '90s who was a bit of a specialist at using older Renaults, especially 16s.

I'm surprised there were many left to race by the nineties. I only recall seeing one in the wild during the whole decade, most had long since rusted away! I still remember it. It was a pale green one with patchy paint, somewhere in Birmingham
