JimH
Two more then I'm done. Apparently these photos were held in the archive from the planning department showing cars being sold illegally. The marina blue T3 looks particularly ropey. Dyslexic Viking, Dick Longbridge and Shite Ron

The site is now a bus station, a few good spots in scene but I am stumped by the Mitsubishi, it almost looks like a 2dr Tredia but I'm fairly sure the closest thing to that is a Cordia and it's not that. Any guesses? Sorry, I've just stumbled across this thread and am loving it! I was born in Barnstaple and I think the building in the background with the black sign is (was!) a discotheque the name of which escapes me, but I worked there as a D.J. during the late 1970s/early 1980s. Memories......

Memories...... Bees! At some point was called Hard Rock Cafe, now Fever, never been in there myself. The car was identified by @Spottedlaurel as a Sapparo - must be mega rare now, I've never seen one. A few notables there, Toyota Corolla (?) estate and some Avengers plus a Honda Acty milk delivery truck. At a guess I would say this was taken around 84-85. The multi storey car park in the background was built in the 60s or 70s and was demolished about 5 years ago due to concrete cancer.

Fab photos, by the way. I'm struggling with it as well. The front looked to me like a Renault 9, but it's too early for that and the back doesn't look right. Is it something cut down to become a pickup? Just noticed the 180B between the Triumph and Maxi in the 2nd row. Gazebo

TataBobu
Taunus 17M was the name used for 4 generation of Granada predecessors: first was 17M P2 ('56 - '60, round headlights), second (the one in the middle in the black and white photo) is a Taunus 17M P3 ('60 - '64, almost rugby ball shaped headlights), then was Taunus 17M P5 ('64 - '67, squareish headlight) and last Taunus 17M P7 (similar with P5, the bodywork even more square, and headlights almost level with the front grille, '67 - '71) lesapandre and Three Speed
Zelandeth
Here are a few photos that a friend dug out of the archives at my old work a few years ago, all from Aberdeen. Really like that most of these are just photos of a normal day rather than when special things are going on. 30-54 King Street, 1972. 265 Union Street, undated. I'm guessing probably early-mid 70s. Auchmill Road, 1974. Bon-Accord Street, undated. Random aside: I lived in a flat about ten years ago directly above the "vehicle" in the Commercial Vehicle Repairs sign on the right. Bridge of Dee, undated. Castle Street, undated. C&A Department Store, Union Bridge, undated. Denburn & Blackfriars Street, 1949. Grants Furniture, Union Street, undated. Greenfern Shopping Centre, undated. Great Northern Road, undated. Great Western Road, near Amatola, undated. Guild Street, 1949. King Street/East North Street Junction, undated. Marischal Street, 1965. Market Street, 1949. Market Street, 1962. Netherkirkgate, 1972. Persley Caravan Park, Mugiemoss Road, undated. Persley Caravan Park, Mugiemoss Road, undated. Printfield Walk, undated. Redmoss Road, 1986. Rosehill Drive, undated. Rosemount Viaduct, Silver Slipper Bar, 1966. Thomsons of Cults BMC Dealership, 1971. Broad Street, undated. Denburn Road looking towards Triple Kirks, 1978. Union Bridge, undated. Wellington Road, undated. YMCA Building, Union Street, undated. Just realised that a few of these don't actually have any vehicles in...Which I never even thought of initially being photos all from within a major city...You just expect these days that there's going to be traffic everywhere! If folks want them deleted let me know, but I figure they're probably still of interest in the general context of historic townscape imagery. Traffic signals are interesting - produced by Forest City, the close spacing of the aspects would not get type approval here today, but would be acceptable in most of Europe. Not also the differing paint patterns - the primary head nearest the camera appears black / white / black (but could equally be brown/white/brown), but the secondary head on the opposite side of the junction is painted white/black/white, as is the one on the left, by the gateway. dozeydustman
Three more from Gravesend in Kent in time gone by. The Routemaster dates this pre 1979 when they were replaced by Atlanteans. I do love a TK. New Road mid 1970s but undated. Other end of New Road outside Burtons and Chiesmans. Maidstone & District decker which I think is a Bristol VR but could be an Atlantean. Finally Springhead Rd, Northfleet in I believe the early 1980s. Would love to identify the two commercials. Is the car a Mk2 Cortina or a Viva HB?
