Guest Breadvan72 Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Even the shitbag spec has FUTURISTIC TECHNOPOD instrument panel! Shep Shepherd 1
dollywobbler Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 it has electric windows? BX was always generous with spec. RE/RD got you eleccy windows and central locking. You need super-pov to actually get keep-fit windows in the front. egg and rob88h 2
chaseracer Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 14RE? LUXURY!! Not 14E? I R DISSAPOINT. Give me my money back*. * adw1977 and egg 2
stillOrange Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 So who wants to come over to help me clean it up? Without electricity or running water in the lock up 😂
Guest Breadvan72 Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 The whole project is a FRAUD. The car is not base spec! BURN IT NOW. BURN THIS THREAD. Money back? erm .... chaseracer 1
trigger Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 What is it with you lot and group buys with buying cars with the wrong rear bumpers? Eddie Honda, Skizzer, rob88h and 5 others 8
Skizzer Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 14RE was the mingebaggiest spec for the UK for early mk1s, I believe. Only later did the Leader (14E) arrive with no bourgeois fripperies whatsoever, and we escaped the misery of the 11E entirely. rob88h and somewhatfoolish 2
r.welfare Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 I thought there was a 14 with no E, which had less power than the 72 of the 14E and RE, but it's a long time since I read the launch brochure. I can't believe no one has said LOVES DRIVING HATES GARAGES yet. What a sales slogan that was! Skizzer 1

Guest Breadvan72 Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Photographs are making me itch from 200 miles away. Would. I can get you a cream for that.
Guest Breadvan72 Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 this website kinda helps re: trim levels. http://citroen.tramontana.co.hu/models/the-nomenclature No matter what a sad anorakky spod I get to be, I take comfort that there is always someone worse than me!
The Moog Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 What's a tailblazer? Do I need one in my life?? I might be up for coming to have a poke at the weekend if you need a hand. stillOrange 1
Cleon-Fonte Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 What's a tailblazer? Do I need one in my life?? The tailblazer is the red plastic bit between the rear lights, on which the number plate is mounted. Looks good on later BXs, this one not so much.
purplebargeken Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Wow! Those pillar stripes! Never noticed this before. This is a bloody ace car. Simple but not. I'd be there now with the valeting box but too far away. Fuck. somewhatfoolish 1
trigger Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 I might as well post this, from 1983 of the "base" model BX. mat_the_cat, purplebargeken, stillOrange and 6 others 9

richardmorris Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 I've asked my local Citroen specialist and friend if he had any series one parts to get rid of. I'll let you know. Oh and my dad had a series one . C383HFM i think a 19RD. It was this or a fiat regatta. I think the Citroen dealer gave a better trade in against a521slg a GSA special. Lovely PRN pods either side of the console, stillOrange, Skizzer and purplebargeken 3
stillOrange Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 What's a tailblazer? Do I need one in my life?? I might be up for coming to have a poke at the weekend if you need a hand.I'm working this Saturday and was planning on going to Total Retro show in Cumbria on Sunday but now I'm thinking I might skip it...
richardmorris Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Ok. Peter has just called me back, he has some s1 parts for sure but can't remember what exactly but will check tomorrow. He knows he has a 1400 engine, but it's not been turned for twenty years so is probably seized. He has a beige rear bumper but thinks it's probably a S2. More info soon! I am happy to buy on account whatever is available and needed, ready for collection. Edit, just to show how sad I am, I've had this new phone for two months and this is the first phone call I've had on it! X files ring tone too:-) The Moog and trigger 2
egg Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 there's a risk this is a stupid question - but does this run ok on standard unleaded? richardmorris and stillOrange 2
The Moog Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 I'm working this Saturday and was planning on going to Total Retro show in Cumbria on Sunday but now I'm thinking I might skip it...Don't skip it on my account. I can come and rub the beige another time
richardmorris Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Now there's a question. It's not a common engine being the suitcase lump.
stillOrange Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Don't skip it on my account. I can come and rub the beige another time I was thinking about skipping on account of the BX being here rather than you potentially coming over When I bought tickets, BX wasn't even on horizon. The Moog 1
