I will just add that this is a nice old car and has a certain charm which is difficult to convey in words and photos. The previous owner/giffer still rings me from time to time to ask how Dennis is going which is actually a pain but he was so attached to it. He was the type who got stuff fixed but never kept the paperwork. They have photos on the mantelpiece of the car at John o'groats. Had it 14 years or something. Insisted on replacing the rear section of exhaust before he sold it to me!

He looked after it well, as although it's a high miler the interior is in reasonable condition and these Astras seem to be quite hard wearing. Will be sad to see it go actually but as always there's loads of other chod I want to try.

Now then Rob, I need another car like a hole in the head (already got no idea what to do with the Fiesta I'm collecting from Bub on Sunday), but put me down for two or three randoms with a view to getting this over the line for Saturday as you're a top fella. Would obviously prefer it if you manage to sell them to someone who actually wants to win, though! 

 

As I always mention on Rob's Roffles, he's only down the road from me and I'm a workshy idler with time on my hands, so if anyone wants to enter but isn't sure about collecting it, I'll quite happily trundle it anywhere in the country in return for a saveloy and chips and a Megabus ticket home. Turns out I can add temporary cover for other cars to my own insurance for £notmuch.
