The cars of UFO TV series

Seriously, though, how was the switchover done when Sweden did it in (IIRC) the 60s?  Maybe there were only 12 cars in Sweden then.

This is a good write up on the Högertrafikomläggningen Dag

One thing I was told years ago (but may well have been pub talk myth) was that the stats for road injuries were not made public for that year.

According to Google Fosters car is alive and road legal in Oz.

Oh, where did you find that?

AFAIK the life of the one of the three Doppleganger cars that became 'Foster's Car' is:

Notice the change to RHD.  It was on this drive for years before it was trailered away

EPP 474G does not have DVLA Export marker so it unlikely be the one in Oz.

Vehicle make: FORD
Date of first registration: August 1968
Cylinder capacity: 3090 cc
Export marker: No
Vehicle status: Not taxed
Vehicle colour: WHITE

Study of the team at work with their custom-built Mini Moke camera-car.

Nice work if you can get it. Clearly a full team of very conscientious professionals.

If that's RYW677F then it's untaxed since 1987 but still registered as only 2 axles.

The Doppleganger car that wasn't used for UFO is the best survivor. Ironically the fact that it was damaged during the making of the film and as a result 'forgotten' it perhaps the reason why it is now the best example of the three

Similar Buckinghamshire registration, though it remains LHD

  • 1 year later...

Time for a small update - I've sold a few of these as slot cars but a few people have asked about doing them as static models,  This meant doing a full interior and a cheaper steering system.

Here's the one I make for my PCS32 chassis

The interior was resin cast, got some nice details of the interior dials and switches

The slot car alloy wheels and rubber tyres are horrifically expensive so I made some 3D printed ones with decent tyre tread.  I designed some waterslide graphics too

So with the usual vacform windows and resin bodyshell, the whole kit looks like this

First one is listed on eBay tonight, let's see if it sells
