The Reverend Bluejeans
Tundra... Antique Gold... it's all the same dregs of the week's colours mixed in a vat for the quick Monday paintjobs either way. Tundra is green, not dissimilar to the green used to paint BMC engines. The Reverend Bluejeans
We had joy, we had fun, We had Allegros in the sun... I bet Terry Jacks drove a antique gold Allegro too. "Every time I was down, you'd bring your Allegro round".
barrett
This is one of the nicest Allegros I've seen, what a stunner. Is it all original or has it had paint?

kinkersaab
Its had paint, but not for many years. The chap i got it from had bits done, but not sure when or what, what has been done has certainly been done well. It has an honest sort of charm about it . Its local history add something to it to me too. I dont imagine ever selling it, which seems to be what happens when i buy stuff these days. Parky
This is just wonderful. I remember these when they were new and I swear this is better looking than anything I saw on the street in the latter part of the seventies. Would. mk2_craig
What a honey! These things deserve a better image than the one they've been given and probably won't ever shake off.
Split_Pin
That's in remarkable condition considering where it's lived all of its life. The colour looks radiant in the sun too. I definitely believe that a low number of owners is a good thing when it comes to how well a car survives.

Stevebrookman
Superb! I passed my test in an M reg 1.3 with the quartic steering wheel in 1982-I still remember the "plasticky" smell from the seats-happy days. within 3 months of passing my test my father replaced it with a 3litre Granada-bit of a difference for a 17 year old! kinkersaab
yeah, i have had it since 2004. I bought it at 93000 miles for £2200. Its now done 115000. One of my better buys. Its been in the shed for 3 years. I had an ace trip round the south of france a few years ago in it. Best holiday ever. mrcitroen
That is minty mint Mcmint! I do like a proper Saab. You just don't get engineering like that now. Thing is, what do you prefer to drive. The Allegro or Saab? Must be like chalk and cheese, but make you smile for completely different reasons.
kinkersaab
The Saab is my favorite, but i like them all for different reasons. The saab is perfectly happy being used on loooong joureys, the Allegro less so... I have just given the red jag a clean. I had some paint done at the tail end of last year and just put it away, so it was dusty and looking sorry for itself. Im not ussing it this year so it will go back in the shed for another year. oldcars, Jim Bell, Vince70 and 26 others
mrbenn
Love love love the Saab! And the Allegro is an absolute honey. A mate and I rented one of those Saabs a couple of years ago for a weekend. Fair to say I fell in love with it. Funnily enough, we were meant to be taking an Allegro but it had broken down the day before.....

kinkersaab
aye, its a nice one, by no means perfect, but for a 22 year old jag with 135000 on it, its as good as they come i would imagine. My v12 is currently getting titivated too, so will add pics once its back. oldcars and Magnificent Rustbucket

Magnificent Rustbucket
All four of them are lovely. The condition of the SAAB is remarkable - even astonishing. I like all of them, but of the four, I would (predictably) take the XJS, even though it isn't quite as shiny as the SAAB - which looks virtually concours. The colour really suits it, as it does the 325.
406V6
The pics display for me now. That Allegro is great. Totally grim in its brown plastic-ness and gaps where there would be goodies in the heady heights of the 1300 super deluxe. Well preserved. purplebargeken
Cor. All most excellent cars! The brown Allegro interior brought back memories of mine. Except mine wasn't quite that good. My Allegro was that baked bean/cat sick colour.
