Dan_ZTT
Really enjoyed that one, proper Top Gear. Race a supercar against a jet fighter. Make a 4x4 out of a Bedford Rascal, fitted with bifold doors and a gravy machine. Job jobbed.
gadgetgricey
Surprised that Rascal did go end over end on the hill descent. Swear the back wheels left the ground as it started. Took some balls
Kowalski
Top Gear isn't really for proper car enthusiasts anymore. In the same way that a Greek wedding would make pottery enthusiasts uneasy. Kowalski
If you really want a Bedford Rascal 4x4, then a Subaru Sumo would be a better option if there are any left.

Not sure it ever has been, or not since before the 'modern' version anyway. It's a family entertainment show that happens to have cars in, and I love it for that. My wife wouldn't sit with me and enjoy an episode of Wheeler Dealers or Hoovies Garage, but Top Gear she will, that's the difference. face
I think the show is starting to settle down a little bit. It also feels as if the studio aspect of things is becoming far less part of things. The Grand Tour have canned that side of things completely now. Harris is an excellent motoring journalist. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable with no fuss. I expect he’s a nice chap. I think Flintoff is the odd man of the trio - I reckon a different kind of character is needed to obtain a bit of balance. Fuck knows who though.
timolloyd
Worth listening to Harris’ Collecting Cars podcast. His anecdotes and knowledge are excellent. The episode with Harry Metcalfe is particularly good. Barry Cade

rantingYoof
What chassis And running gear did they use for the rascal?I'm guessing it was a Daihatsu Fourtrak. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
garbaldy
They said it was diahatsu but I thought the wheels looked very shogun to me and I didn't think they had the same stud pattern, must do I suppose.
Rod/b
I thought that - could have had spacers on I guess but i don’t think the fourtrack was 6 stud

Rod/b
I’m going to put my neck on the line here and make a prediction: I reckon that what’s going to happen now is that a load of tedious bores who “don’t like Top Gear, especially with these presenters and with how they treat the cars, it’s all set up anyway” are going to sit down and watch this episode anyway. After they do, they’re going to be hitting the internet to moan and whinge about how Top Gear isn’t really a car show any more, they’ve smashed the cars up and the presenters aren’t as good as when Chris Goffey was in it. HMC
I’m glad the production team has seemingly zoned in on these road trips, Sunday evening escapism; burbling through Peru with some banter and stunning scenery whilst storm ciara batters outside our place with torrential rain and darkness.
